Love My Mini!, 3/22/2012

I love my mini, it is my first Cricut. I am good with computers and I love the Craft Room (aside from my internet connection being so-so). I like that the Craft Room is as big as your computer screen which allows greater detail. I have never used the screens on the Expression or other machines or the Gypsy, but I think I would get frustrated with the small screens. From what I can tell what the sacrifices are for the better price are: 1. no screen and not a stand alone machine. This isn't a problem for me since I like the Craft Room and there are tons of videos on the internet to help you with it. 2. From what I can tell in the videos the other machines are quite a bit quieter. It honestly isn't that bad after you get use to the sounds of the machine. My craft area is right below a bedroom and they can't hear me when I work with the machine so it's not so bad. 3. The blade housing is plastic instead of metal - really no big deal at all. 4. The mats are only 8.5 by 12 instead of 12 by 12 or 12 by 24. Not so bad considering the original was 6 by 12. Over all I think it's a great starting price if you want to see how much you will use it. It is half the price ofthe other machines and the cartridges you buy now you will be able to use if you choose to upgrade to a bigger machine.

After spending all weekend trying to get it to cut through cardstock and light fabric (which it says it can cut), I boxed it up and returned it. The machine would literally jump off the table while cutting cardstock and would only bunch up the fabric, even though it was duct taped to the mat! To make matters worse, customer service isn't available on weekends. Frustration doesn't even begin to express my feelings towards the Mini.

I got this on Friday I used it 3 times the cutting pad already isn't sticky and my computer keeps telling me that Cricut update firmware is needed I have updated 10 times I even deleted the craft room program and reinstalled it still is telling me to update and still not working... very disappointed as this is my first Cricut ever to buy and doesn't not work if I cant get it to work tomorrow I am returning it and prob. not going to get a new one or anything cricut again shouldn't have such problems if its like this with the mini how do I know it isn't like this with the other products. kinda sad you don't have a 24/7 hot line to call or chat to fix this problem. (I also see that I am not the only person who has problems with this maybe you should take it off the market or fix the problems)

I love the Mini, I can hardly wait for the new update so I can link my carts through my Gypsy to Cricut Craft Room and use the Gypsy with the Mini. This little bug fits perfectly in the Cricut bag made for the baby bug. Perfect for my RV, crops and retreats. Love it!

I have purchased all of my cricuts on the HSN launch. The mini was a huge disappointment. It was extremely noisy, not compatible with the gypsy and inferior to my personal, imagine and expression machines. I returned it. I felt it really lacked quality.

I too am frustrated - I bought this on HSN on the launch and was told it would be compatible with the gypsy soon. All of my cartridges are on my gypsy and I let my mom use my cartridges - so the only way I can use this is to "borrow" one of the actual cartridges from my mom. Not happy about this - waste of money for over 4 months now. If I had known that the gypsy would still be incompatible and no ETA of when it will be, I would have NEVER bought this machine. Very disappointed, feel lied to.

This little guy is wonderful. I didn't get much of a chance to work with it during the holidays, but the last month I have used it almost every day. The cuts are so clean & crisp. I just love it. So glad I took the plunge at the world launch on HSN.
