The basic geometric shapes on George are a must have for designing with your Gypsy, Design Studio, or Cricut Craftroom. I reach for George again and again. Good basic calligraphy font, too. However, since it is one of the original Cricut carts, the creative feature keys are quite simplified.

George and Basic Shapes is an essential cart for EVERY Cricut user. This was my very first cartridge, obtained in early 1996 ... and it is still my most used cart today. It has a simple, basic font, that works well with nearly every project and a nice selection of common word phrases. The special features it offers are the base image, sign, slotted, silhouette, shadow and blackout, which offer a great selection of creative opportunities. HOWEVER, it is the great selection of shaped images that really make this a remarkable cartridge. If you are a Gypsy or Design Studio user, you will truly appreciate the ability to "tweak" the various shapes together to create your own unique designs. I've found it to be the most useful cartridge of all and I highly recommend it to all Cricut users.

The George and Basic Shapes Cartridge is the only cartridge that I own that is used in every design that I make. I use design studio for every cut that I make and George helps me with paper size and how big to make each cut just by putting a rectangle in the space and filling it up. I love that fact that the shapes in George can be welded together to form any shape that your imagination can put out!! It is truly a gem in the cartridge library!!

I always seem to be going for this cartridge when I need a shape or want to design something in Design Studio. Although it is very basic it has the best variety of shapes on it.

This cart is a must for any collection. The fonts and shapes on it will come in handy over and over again. If you're planning on having a just few carts for your Cricut, it would be a great idea for you to make GBS one of them. You'll get a lot of use out of it! It may very well end up being your go-to cart! :o)
