Is anyone else having this problem?
My antivirus keeps detecting maleware in the CCRBridge.exe and will not allow the program to open.
The detection is TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2

My old computer had 138 viruses on it after I started using my Expression on it; I have been worried about it from time-to-time.

Mallory, can you dispel any of our concerns over this? It's very serious if we are getting viruses from downloads in CCR and/or bridge errors.

I am very reluctant to hook my Expression up to our new computer!

There was a thread on the Yahoo group about this. There was some version of either spyware or malware software that was causing a false positive on the scans.

If you have access to the group, check there. I think the gal called the software company and that is what they told her and they were updating their data files to fix that problem. I forget what the software was.

That's really good to know, cricutKris; I don't really think PC would let something like that happen--but, you never know these days. There's so much bad stuff out there. I just wish PC would come out and let us know all of this stuff "up front" when things like that happen. Why do they want all of the speculation out here? I'm sure they know what they're doing; but, sometimes it's hard to believe they do! LOL.

Thanks so much for the info!

I hear you! But I don't think this is something that is their (pc) responsibility. It's kind of like Norton detecting a virus signature on a new program. PC can't possibly notify all anti virus or malware program companies of their new software. There are so many of them.

Did that make sense? Unlike trend micro where a whole bunch of us were using, they did notify us about that....however, it still doesn't work for me. I have to kill my program to get the sync to run. Crying

There is no malware, spyware or viruses in the Craft Room program. For whatever reason, some anti-virus programs are flagging parts of the code in Craft Room as suspicious or unrecognized. Typically the program just brings up a warning asking you to verify if it is a program you trust to install.

If the program prevents you from overriding the warning, you may need to go into your anti-virus settings and add Craft Room to your trusted programs or "white" list. If you still have problems, I'd recommend contacting your antivirus provider and they should be able to help you work through it.

If you do get to the point of having to contact the anti-virus provider, I would be interested to know their recommendations. If we can get a better understanding of why the antivirus is flagging the application, we may be able to add in some preventative measures into the application itself.
