Hello to all :) I am relatively new to this whole Cricut thing, but I absolutely LOVE my Cricut! I am a big card maker. I try to scrapbook, but I really like to make others happy! Is there a certain cartridge that I should get? I have: Paper Lace, George and Basic Shapes, and Pooh and Friends (shape cartridge). Thanks for any help you can give! BigGrin

I'm not the best since after getting a few I suddenly had to have just about all of them (thank goodness for the old ebay prices, and now amazon.com has lots of great ones for under $25).

What is your main audience, ie are you making cards for children mostly, or adults? People who love animals or flowers?

I'd start on the cricut info section and look through all the handbooks for carts, it'll take you awhile but it's worth it to see exactly what is on each cartridge and visualize if it'll work well for you.

Have to say I also really recommend a gypsy if you don't have one yet, the things it can do to improve your cricut experience are unreal, I would never use my cricut w/o it and being able to weld things (fonts especially) for use on a card (since they are usually cut smaller) is so worth it as are the options to hide contours and change shapes/sizes etc. Really helps me as mainly a card maker to see exactly what size things will be before I cut to be sure they will fit on my intended card size.

Top of my head favorites:
create a critter (LOVE it... though I'd say geared more if you have children or at least are sending cards to the young at heart)
storybook: has a great font and there are a surprisingly large amount of other elements that I love, especially florals
cindy loo: lots of pretty florals on this one too and cute critters
simply charmed: fun playful cuts
stretch your imagination: ready to use cards, lots of options/holdays
kate's abc's or nate's abcs

I better stop before I name all 30+ carts I've accumulated in the past yr LOL

I like Learning Curve, Printing 101, Cuttin Up & Ashley's Alphabet because they cut nicely in small sizes for cards(and shadows). I have Design Studio for designing my card before I cut anything, for welding phrases for cards and for welding uniques shapes I may not have. The rest is up to you and who you make cards for...Enjoy the search(that's half the fun)...HTH

Since you really like making cards I would suggest Wild Card and also Graphically Speaking, which is my favorite.
