When I layer two different colored items together one color will take over. So if I place a blue hat on a red flower the blue hat will turn red. Has anyone figured out a solution or has experienced this. Thanks for your insight!!!

I found that if you make sure you do not weld the images together that they will keep their seperate colors. Group them instead and you can always "edit group" if you need to make changes to individual sections. The group function is located on the top task bar. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering about cutting though I would like for it to cut out in one piece and not two. Have you tried this?

I've done this. It's been hit and miss as to whether the layers change colors or not. I got a Mickey Mouse printed and cut as one layer with my Imagine, but it had some quirks that are still there when I've tried other things. I haven't figured out a work around at all. One trick I did try that works sometimes is the order of the layers. You can bring some forward and push one back etc. I did find that it seemed to do better when I started with the first layer, then put on the next, and so on.

I did found that out today by playing around and you are right it depends on the position of the layer. Did you get a chance to cut it out yet?

The last time I tried, last week, it spit the mat back out at me. I'm waiting for a new imagine to show up and then can see if anythings changed or not. :)

Mallory has some tips on coloring and layering in her STICKY at the top "Cricut CraftRoom". Maybe that will be helpful to some of you. - Char
