I have a cricut create. Do I need to change the blade housing part if I want to use the blade for thick materials?

Thanks.

The regular blade will cut thin chipboard using the multi-cut function. Anything thicker than that you will need the deep blade housing and blade.

While the deep cut blade will fit in the regular housing unit, the deep cut blade housing unit is slightly shorter than the regular one (thus allowing more of the blade to extend for a deeper cut and the thicker media to go between it and the mat).
