I have had my cricut machine for a long time now, but I dont have much time to use it and when I do get a minute to get a page l/o done I dont have time to play with the machine or experiment. Can you guys give me any advice or send me samples of die cuts you have made from your cricut? My stuff looks plain and homemade. I want mine to look as pretty and glittzy and fancy as the premade stuff you buy in the store but I dont know how to do it, add those extra touches. I have two preteen girls and I want to get craftier with my embellishments - they like giltz and glam and sparkely things

LOL, here are some pics of a card I made that I was just getting ready to post in the card forum!! They fit your "glitz & glam" to a tee!! I just used glitter cardstock and a few rhinestones. The images are from Forever Young.

I have lots of stuff on my blog. I have a girly-girl who likes sparkly too.

The key to sparkle to me is to get a Xyron and Martha Stewart glitter! You turn your die cut face-down and run it through the Xyron to get a super thin, smooth adhesive surface. Sprinkle glitter on and tap off. Perfect every time.

I love the Xyron method with MS glitter too. Also, I really love "Stickles" which is a really wonderful glitter glue. Sometimes I just want to outline my cuts in glitter. Here's a LO where I did that. http://community.provocr...ake---First-LO-Post.aspx You can get some colors of Stickles at Ms, but to be able to choose from all the colors of Stickles, you probably will have to order online. HTH!

Linda....loved the layouts you did.

I like to go to blogs to check out examples of pages. I also have a bunch of SB magazines that I will go back and look through for imspiration.

Good luck,

Dee

Different things I do to my cuts is embossing them, using Stickles on them, using Liquid Pearls on them (like Stickles w/out the glitter but with a nice shine), inking the edges and pen work (white pen stitching or hi-lights).

I also use rhinestones and pearls on my die cuts and I use a lot of foam tape to make my layers.

Thanks. These great pointers are appreciated by another die cut newbie (me). Also look for the cartridges with layers. I found it makes using different colors a lot easier.
