Can anyone tell me how to determine what size to cut something. I tried to cut something at 3" thinking it would cut at 3" tall and it cut at 3" wide instead. For example, if I want a 2" flower from Mother's Day Bouquet do I set it to cut 2"? Any input will be greatly appreciated. I love these MBs.

Kate, look at the first few pages of your carts booklet it shows you how that cart is sizes. If you have an Expression machine there is a real size button so if you wanted a 2pm flower you would get a two inch size. The only thing with that is the layers won't match up , they are not in proportion . So if your cut a 5pm paper doll at reall size and the cut a shirt at the same real size setting it won't fit.
Some people use printer paper to check their cuts sizing , this way they don't waste good paper.
