I'm brand new to Cricut. Just took it out of the box last night and sadly am at work today. Huh

Anyway, I have cut a few things with my cartridges. I have read many, many things looking for the answer to my question - to no avail.

How do I cut on the whole surface, rather than always starting at the top/right corner? Won't that wear out the mat in the top/right fast?

It seems to me that there should be a way to use the whole surface.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Use the down arrow to move the cutting blade down on your paper. Then hit cut. The little arrows around the cut button move the blade in each direction shown so you can put it where ever you want.

regardless of how the arrows are pointing on the mat, you can turn it around and put it in the other end first! also you might be interested in design studio (which you can find on ebay for alot less than paying retail)! with design studio you can put your design anywhere on the page as well as save paper by being able to twist and turn the shapes however you want to! hope this helps!
