I bought an expression and I'm already very frustrated. I cannot get it to cut felt, I've tried a couple different felts (different qualities/thickness), I've tried the multi cut feature, changed the pressure and speed settings as well as the blade setting to 6 and nothing works. It doesn't even seem to touch the felt at all. This machine is brand new, first use. I've also noticed that after trying a few times the cutting mat is already losing it's stickiness however it says it's good for 25+ cuts. I'm so disappointed with this machine, for the cost of it I really expected much more.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thank you in advance for any input!

You'll need the deep cut blade to cut felt.

Here's a link to a great cutting guide that you can download for free. It goes through all times of cutting mediums and gives you the recommended blade settings etc. http://www.aboverubiesstudio.com/

The mat will get less sticky over time, but you can resticky it. Check out the Getting Started forum. You'll find lots of useful info there. Smile

Thank you for the link and information. I'll have to see if a store near me has the deep cut blade so I can try that. Although I'm a little irritated that I didn't know that right off the bat or I probably would've thought twice about purchasing it. I've been so excited to try it I guess I'm just disappointed that so far it hasn't lived up to my expectations at all.

I've been wondering about this, haven't tried it yet but I have a project in mind that I'd really like to make some cuts on felt for. Thanks for posting and thanks for the replies!

Well I went out today and bought the deep cut blade and housing, taped the felt and it still did not work, even with the multi cut. I decided I want to return it and as I'm looking at the cutting mat I realize that there are a TON of cut marks NOT from me, so this was already used and returned to the store. So I'm not sure if it's just this machine that's defective but I'm not very confident to buy another one.
