I have been wanting them and now a couple of places have them besides HSN. I was just wondering if the borders are hard to cut? Do they look as nice as the punches? I would love to know if you guys would recommend them.

Thanks,
Candie

MS has great punches. Even if you are using a little thick cardstock it punches very clean cuts.

I love her punches too and that is why I want the carts. Do you have any of the carts?

I don't have the carts as I really liked them when they came out. Only, I really started looking at them and realized they had a lot of the same cuts repeated. Also, I must be odd man out, but I have had problems with her punches and then the company not being willing to help me or replace them. I've had a couple that broke before I even got to really use them once and I'm not willing to spend my hard earned money on her products if the company that manufactures them won't even stand behind the product. I refuse to buy any more of her punches. I do like her glitters and such but no more.

iWant them, too! Laugh

Cheapest I've seen them is at $42.95 each, from TerriKrafts. But I haven't taken the plunge yet. Confused

I would imagine that since these were made for Cake decorating, the borders--with their intricate detail at times--are meant to be cut at bigger sizes than what MS punches would make. If you mean to buy the MS Cake carts to cut the borders (from paper) at the same size as the punchies, I can't imagine they would cut and look as clean as making borders from the MS punches, KWIM? It's all about your expectations. For example, if you magnify 200% view the tiny circle details in any lace border cut on Gypsy (or DS), like in Cake Basics, you'll notice they are not perfectly round at all, but like little diamond shapes, I suppose so the Cricut can cut them out better since they're so tiny. Punches will punch out those detailed lace borders perfectly and with very crisp results.

I want the carts for the borders, too, but I have her border punches as well, and I look forward one day to use them both at my convenience (as you know, punches are at times easier to whip out than taking out all your supplies to cut the same thing from your Cricut). Wink

I have the all occasions Martha cake cart. I don't have any punches. So I can't compare the cuts to the punches. But I can say I love the cart and all the boarders and such. So if you are thinking about getting some do it. Some M's have had them for $20. They are no longer going to be carrying Cake products and are clearancing out thier cake items, including the MS carts.

Js has them on sale right now for 40 if I remember right. I just got the holiday one craft something and I love it. Some of the cuts as mentioned do not cut as clean as the punches. I have only played with it for a few cuts so not sure if will do better with dif settings than what I had on already,

I thought all the cake carts were from Martha. Which carts are not?

There is the Cake Basics that comes with the Cake. Then there's Elegant Cakes, Birthday Cakes, and Holiday Cakes, the ones on sale at Michaels for $19.99.

the trouble between the regular cake carts and martha ones when it comes to telling them apart is the names are very simailler.

the regular cake ones are
Cake Basics
Birthday cakes
Elegant Cakes
Holiday cakes

the martha stewart ones are
martha stewart All Occasion cake art
martha stewart Elegant Cake art
martha stewart Seasonal cake Art

Kinda seems like poor naming choices some where with the names being so close.

Elannah, Michaels is not going to carry the Cake anymore, so they have been clearancing out the whole line. The Cake is now just $149.99, the accessories (tool kit, mats, frosting sheets, blades, water brush, etc) are 60% off, and the Cake carts are $19.99. This should be at all Michaels. You don't have a Michaels near you, I take it? I can try to find all 3 for you, but I can't guarantee it will be as soon as tomorrow. Are you in a hurry to get them?
