I am turning anew leaf......gonna go fabric did paper and cake now its time to get down and get sewing........

I need to know from those of you who already cut fabric how hard it is to get it to stay on the mat and the easiest ways of keeping it on the mat............

and which fabrics cut easier and which do not cut at all thanks everyone in advance Jodi

the best fabric is anything tight woven. Broadcloth, sheeting, calico prints.
The Worst and just don't bother - Jersey Knit, fleece, anything stretchy.

so for making appliques for quilting and such would you suggest the calico print fabric? I kinda figured that would be easiest to cut
