I need to cut out 27 fun foam hearts for a craft project for my sons valentine party. I am the homeroom mom, so I am in charge of all the parties. I have an original E machine and Imagine. Can I use the E to cut the fun foam. I have been watching youtube videos and one lady cut stuff with an original E and her gypsy but multi cut it 6 times. It left indents from the rollers in the foam from 6 passes. I don't want indents. Is there better settings to cut this with my E? I really don't want to cut them all by hand.Scared I am always cutting things for my boys classes if the teachers need something.

Things like this make the new Explorer machine look very handy with all it is suppose to cut with a flip of the dial.

I don't know if anyone has cut fun foam successfully with cricut or not. Try you tube to see if anyone has posted a video on it. I do know that people have cut fun foam with a cuttlebug or big shot though, you would just need a heart die.

Yeah the new explore is supposed to cut fun foam, but unfortunately it doesn't go on sale till the 12th. Do you think HSN will do next day shipping ? LOLMy only other suggestion would be time travel. LOL LOL LOL

LOL LOL LOL Great Idea! Can I come too?

I have cut foam letters in my AE2, I did have to cut a little around some of the edges to "clean" it up. Some of the letters were ok. Use a real sticky mat and multi cut. Or use a heart punch or try them by hand, you could probably do more than 1 at a time by hand, fold foam and only cut half the heart.

I just finally found a video someone did on it 2 years ago. You basically make a grid with your gypsy to show where the rollers are on your machine. It dos limit the size you can make them. Oh and to use the deep cut blade. So I think I may be able to make it work.

Ok I watched the video and she had to multicut 8 times.
Nope I don't think that will work for 27 hearts.
Looks like they are hard to get off the mat too
I will have to just get out a pair of scissors.

in all the time of figuring this all out you would have had them cut, lol I don't think it will take as long as you thought.

I was at the Dollar Tree today and they have some in various sizes. You might want to check there.

In this case..I would be bringing out my sizzix machine and heart die. I can't imagine cutting multicut 6-8 times for 27 hearts.
