Just talked with a local scrapbook store they have a class to make 8 pages (4 double layouts) cost of the class is $8.50 + supplies. need to bring own tape/glue, trimmer, etc. Guess how much the supplies are.....a lot more than the $20 I was expecting. They were $53! I just could not justify that cost since I have enough supplies to last forever at home.

Yes, that seems pricey to me.

I really don't think that's pricey. Depending on how "detailed" the layouts are. She had to design the Layouts, provide papers, embellies, etc. I have seen directions ONLY layouts for $10.

ETA..I would ONLY pay it, if the layouts were detailed and something I wouldn't necessarily be able to design myself.

That seems way to high to me.

Just out of curiosity, what were the supplies? Did she have everything cut out and you just glue it together? Did it include ribbon and embelishments?

The only reaqson I ask is I've seen those classes advertised and it always say plus cost of supplies, always wondered what the "supplies" are

I take a class that does 3 layouts (6 pages). Instructor provides everything except consumables like tape, stickles, pop-dots, etc. In her package is paper, stickers, ribbons, buttons, chipboard, brads - whatever stuff goes into the layouts. It's always quality stuff - My Mind's Eye, Bo Bunny, Cosmo Cricket, etc. She charges around $35 (that includes her teaching fee). It varies a little bit based on how much stuff goes into the layouts. They are always pretty detailed, but sometimes there's just more! There are also usually leftovers - like getting a page of stickers, but only using a few. When she announces a class, she includes pictures of the layouts so you can see if you like them before signing up.

So, $61/$62 seems a bit high to me. I'd want to see those "supplies" first - and they better be good!
