OUCH!!! This morning when I was walking around the pasture our dog Moose came running behind me and knocked me into the barbwire fence. My hair was tangled up in the barbwire (I could not get free) and then I have a three inch gouge on my back. Luckily, I was wearing jeans so I have no boo boos on my fanny. I also have a puncture wound just above my wrist on my right hand. I also have several small scrapes from the barbwire. I used my common sense and did not twist or turn to get free of the barbwire. Eventually the wind detangled my hair and I gently eased my self off the barbwire. I have about 2 dozen puncture hole in my lovely pink long sleeve shirt from Fantastic Caverns. BOO HOO!

Ooh, hope you are up to date on your tetanus boosters! Barbwire punctures are nasty and need proper cleaning (I speak from experience)

You had me confused at first as to where you would find a Moose in our partsLOL

Hurry and get well

OOOHHHHH!!! I am so sorry! Sounds very painful. I hope you heal very quickly! Now, with all that said.... I am laughing my butt off!!!! I hope you can appreciate the humor in your retelling of the story! If I were there, I certainly would have helped untangle you and get you off the fence....after I quit laughing! The fact that I thought you had been attacked by a moose didn't help! Seriously, though. I do hope you are OK. Make sure your tetanus shot is up to date!

Youchie! I hope you heal up quickly. Keep them clean and I agree that you need to make sure your tetanus booster is current. And Moose should lose his treats this evening. LOL

Moose is a she. We adopted her from the local animal shelter. She is as strong as an ox, stands about 2 1/2 feet tall and weights in at 60 + pounds. Should have seen me trying to get her into the truck. She still was a puppy and very strong, pulled me through the animal pound's lawn. During cooler weather she gets very frisky and runs like a speeding bullet.

I hope you heal fast and well. Give your dog Moose extra hugs when yu feel better as here that is we give out for things that happen. Hopefully you & Moose will figure out how to avoid that nasty barbed wire. Hope you are updated on your tetanus shot- if not do so as soon as you can. Good luck. BJR.

Oh, that must have been scary. When I saw the caption to this thread I was thinking a MOOSE had knocked you over and I though that had to have been SERIOUS-like broken bones. Glad to hear your moose was a dog but sorry to hear about this.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!

thanks everyone for your comments. I am dong pretty well, just a little stiff. Removed the dressing for the deep scratch and there is no redness or swelling. The puncture wounds are pretty much healed. My favorite Branson shirt did not fare very well. I have several barb wire holes on the sleeve and the back. I am not for sure what or who kept me from having more scratches though after looking at my shirt.

Your guardian angel most likely! The shirt will just have to be a good memory of "it could have been worse!" Glad you are better!
