I will be mailing Monday for sure....should be safe out there by then. I was really out of my comfort zone for a few of these projects, but I think they came out good and hope my SS does too.

Always fun to hear of more swap boxes getting mailed.

I got off track this past few days so I can see that I'll probably be finishing up this next weekend and mailing on the DD.

Did a bunch of xmas shopping today. Tomorrow is decorate day.

Why do vacation/long weekends always go too fast and I never get half of what I wanted to do done???

I had a hard time with this one also if you are talking about the Inspirational directive.

I ended up buying something I thought would "INSPIRE" my SS to do something she hasn't done before.

You all are reading too much into the inspiration directive. lol

Like Jean says, it's just inspiration to craft something in the new year.

You can buy a product from her wishlist that she's been wanting to try; or you can supply her with the supplies she would need to attempt to craft something she's been wanting to try.

If she is interested in steampunk and you have what she would need, then send her a goodie bag so she can craft her own steampunk tag.

Or maybe it's a stencil and some modeling paste.

Maybe it's beads and wires for a small dangle.

Maybe it's a brand of ink pad she's never tried.

Maybe it's some TH diecuts that you diecut for her from your supply of dies, but let her assemble the pieces.

It could be a collection of cricut diecuts too! Maybe a common theme, and then she can use them to create a LO page.

Or you can totally read more into it and do something more inspirational, true to the word. Example, making something with an inspirational verse on it. It can be humorous too, you know.

Inspirational doesn't necessarily mean religious at all.

It's basically looking at your own stash and if there is something you have a lot of, or room to spare, then share with your partner if you think it's something she could use or will appreciate receiving.

It's all about giving her inspiration to continue to craft or continue to swap.

Hope that helps!

Checking in. I did some Thanksgiving evening shopping both in store and retail. But have not left my house since then. I did manage to take advantage of a nice online sale from another site. Stocked up on supplies and umm a machine or two (oops). Went to Target and picked up a nice new pink Dyson Vacuum cleaner, which my husband asked if this was my Christmas gift this year. Well I gave him the look and our daughter gave him a hard time about it too - lol. Got my grand daugther a couple items and picked up 2 I-pad mini's. The deal was too good at Target to pass up. But I did not even go out on Black Friday. Guess I can make up for it on Cyber Monday - lol.

I have been putting finishing touches on every thing and completing the last item or two this weekend. Silly me needs to pay more attention to dates. I admit I was in a slight panic because I still need to wrap and throught tomorrow (Dec 2) was the deadline to mail. I love making the wraping and presentation a little special when I can and thought I wasn't going to be able to. But I have had a good time finishing things up, just me and my furbabies since the wee hours of Friday. I think I will be mailing mid week. My packages always go priority mail and my SS I am sending to only lives a state away.

Oh and I certainly do not want to forget to mention that I recieved a package from Cricutjunky on Saturday. I have just started peeking inside and will post pictures in a day or so. So far I am loving what I am seeing and even opened something rather cute and funny. Thank you Cricutjunky!

Checking in.. had a very busy crafty week. Now I have finishing touches on a few items since I changed my mind on a couple creations.

Guess I'm not the only one struggling with #19. Gwynne, thanks so much for some suggestions on this directive. This is only one that I need to do. I'll be mailing on the due date.

Looking forward to seeing more boxes.

Hope everyone has a great week,
Ali

I finished up my inspirational #19 last night. So I'm down to my last directive, which should be a fun one to do or atleast not too hard or not too stressful!

I didn't get my house decorated afterall, but the good news is that this swap is getting my full attention! lol

Checking in for the week.

I must apologize to whomever has me as I've been out of town since Wednesday visiting my daughter in Louisville, KY for Thanksgiving. Plus I had to bring her back her cat, which I've been cat sitting for the past 6 weeks so she could get some studying done.

There was a yellow card in my mailbox when I got home, so I'm assuming this is from you. DH is picking up from P.O. as soon as he gets off work and when I get home I will open and take photos.BigGrin

Here's a photo of Angel (the cat), Bebe (Silky Terrier) and Paco (Chiweenie). They all got along pretty well these past few weeks. Other than Angel getting sick and me having to take her to our vet, she was very well-behaved. I'm glad she's back home though as I'm not really a cat person.Blushing Cool Oh and she doesn't have a tail due to tail rot and it had to be removed.

finally I was able to login!! don't know if it is my dumb internet being all messed up again or if it was the mb being messed up! usually I can login even when others are saying they can't! I got logged in on my phone last night but like Gwynne says it's like half the page is missing. the post reply button is on the missing half of the page. Cursing I did text Gwynne letting her know I was unable to login just in case it didn't work today! I believe I am almost finished.

I am having a hard time with the brick directive. I don't have the texture fades folder and I have searched the craft stores for some sort of brick paper and could not find anything! I even looked into buying the texture fades folder but couldn't find it either. any suggestions on this directive?

You could do fireplace instead, if you happen to have some xmas paper with a fireplace or the mantle.

Or maybe there is a fireplace diecut on one of the cricut cartridges too.

and I know I've seen a tutorial someplace about making bricks on a tag.

Or read the verse and "key in" on a different word in the verse, if need be....

Go online and search IMAGES for "brick paper" then just print it out and use it on your project.
I do that all the time if I can't find something I really need.

NO DIBBS!!! DEFINITELY NO DIBBS ON THIS BOX! This is pic heavy because Cheryl did such a awesome job on this box. It’s perfect and I love it all.

All you ladies get ready to be AMAZED and break out the napkins because y'all will be drooling over this box!LOL

1. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire - What a cute little tag. Love the Santa coming out the chimney
2. Jack Frost nipping at your nose - I just love this little snowman and he’s on both sides of the bag!
3. Yuletide carols being sung by a choir – Cheryl altered this a photo frame and put the sheet music inside. Love the bling.
4. And folks dressed up like Eskimos – This is the cutest little wreath I’ve ever seen. And I already had that stand for it to go on.
5. Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe – This is the cutest little box. She decorated the outside with paper and bling. I just love that poinsettia on top.

6. Help to make the season bright – Who doesn’t love Timmy stuff, and I didn’t have any of these colors. I also love how Cheryl made several little gift boxes. Such talent.
7. Tiny little tots with their eyes all aglow – BLING, BLING BLING…I LOVE BLING!
8. Will find it hard to sleep tonight – another little frame altered in my colors (red and gold)
9. They know that Santa's on his way – Now that’s what I call a “chunky” charm. I love that little box too.
10. He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh – I just love this paper (and Snickers)! Not sure if you can see, but the dots on the paper are glitter. More bling!

11. And every mother's child is going to spy – OMG Cheryl, I LOVE, LOVE LOVE, that stamp set. You really spoiled me.
12. To see if reindeer really know how to fly – isn’t this the cutest large clothes pin? It even has a magnetic back so I can put it on my fridge.
13. And so I'm offering this simple phrase – what a cute card you made. I love those colors.
14. To kids from one to ninety-two – OMG I have to know what stamp set that is. I just love it. And that little crayon/fry box is a great addition.
15. Although it's been said many times, many ways – I just love your cards and one can never have too many cards.

16. Merry Christmas to you – Thank you for this lovely card and your sweet note. You did a wonderful job on my box and your handwriting is fine.
17. Love and joy come to you – get a load of these two pages, and she even put them in a plasic paper holder, which was a great idea for keeping them safe. These pages are beautiful.
18. And to you, your carol to you – I love the tags and those songs. I was singing them as I was looking at the tags. LOL
19. And God bless you and send you a Happy New Year – Definitely no dibbs on this banner! Cheryl you really outdid yourself on this one. I took a close up so you ladies could see the detail on this banner.

20. And God send you a Happy New Year – now for the piece de resistance…a box full of “Crafting Techniques.” OMG it is perfect, you really went above and beyond on this one. This is definitely my favorite of all (although they all are wonderful). I will certainly be using these on some of my upcoming workshops.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU CHERYL for a wonderful box.
