CROSSPOST

Hello,
I have never cut vinyl with the Cricut machine!BigGrin I have been asked to cut vinyl to place on a wall in my beautician's shop.

She has a saying that she wants to put on the wall. I have never purchased vinyl or cut any with the machine.HELP

Where do you purchase your vinyl? She wants the saying cut in a charcoal color. I would have to order that color, if it comes in that color.

I looked at AC Moore, they had black and white and a roll of "transfer sheet". I notice that the" transfer roll" said 4 sheets of 12 by 24 inches. Can you reuse "transfer sheet" or is it like tape and stays on vinyl lettering?

Is it hard to cut ?
Different qualities?
Settings?

ANYONE that has cut and/or used vinyl that could offer any suggestions?

Any tips, tricks or info that I should know regarding vinyl?

The space is 45" by 45" but she thinks around 36" by 36" is the area to cover with the phrase.

Is that going to be expensive? She offered to pay me but... I may be over my skill level with this request!BigGrin

What do you think? Any advice?
Thank you,
Diania

I buy my vinyl online at Expressions Vinyl. They have very good prices and so many colors to choose from!

Depending on which machine you have, set your Cricut to either blade-3, pressure-3 and speed-3 for the Expression and 2-2-2 for the E2 (that's what I have to do in order to get the kiss cut). You don't want the blade to cut all the way through the backing, just the vinyl so when you take off the unwanted vinyl, you put the transfer tape on top of your image(s) which makes it so much easier to transfer your image to wherever it needs to go.

Hope this information helps you a little, and please post pics of your finished masterpiece! Smile
