Hello, I was wondering what the advantage is of purchasing digital vs cartridge. I am interested in purchasing digital for some of the cartridges that are sold out. Can I get some advice. Thank you! I'm new to the Cricut community. Just received my Cricut Expression a couple of weeks ago. BigGrin

Digital advantages:
1. You get them instantly loaded to CCR to use. You don't have to wait for them to be delivered.
2. The hard to find sought after carts are usually much cheaper this way.
3. You can load them to a Gypsy.

Physical advantages:
1. You have a hard copy of the cartridge that you can link to CCR and then a Gypsy.
2. You can use the cartridge if CCR or your internet is down.
3. If something ever happened where CCR was no longer available you would still have the physical cartridge to use in your machine.

Personally I prefer physical cartridges but if you can get the hard to get or sought after carts reasonably than any other way then go for it. I would check around first and make sure you can't get them in a physical form anymore. Welcome to the Cricut community!

Welcome to the Cricut world! But if you stick around, watch your bank account. I keep finding new craft things that I just HAVE to have by being here.

I much prefer an actual cartridge. I do have a few digital, but I kind of feel like I am renting them, as opposed to buying a physical cartridge. I don't use CCR unless I have to, as I do not wish to be tied to a computer based cutting program. Like my "plug and play" version of my Cricuts!

One benefit of digital is that your spouse won't see that you've once again spent more money on your Cricut addiction. Cool

I have always wanted physical carts but there are a few, 9 to be exact, that I bought in digital format just because they no longer sell the physical cart or online stores want mega bucks for the carts.

The main reason I want the physical carts...I want to make sure if they ever discontinue the CCR program, I can still use my cricut. I've been around the scrapping world long enough to know...companies never keep anything forever.
