I see some really cute cards, I see shapes and flowers and jewels and wonder how they get them in the envelope. Mailing would be totally out of the question. Are these hand delivered without an envelope?

I mail my super chunky cards in bubble wrap envelopes. I make sure to take them to the PO so a USPS employee can stamp it or whatever needs done to ensure the card is hand sorted rather than put through the sorting machines. Of course this costs extra, but that is the choice I make when making such a card. I have also hand delivered, in custom envelopes I create myself, when possible, or if the card's embellies really are too large, I deliver sans envelope, though I usually will wrap the card in tissue paper that matches in color, design, or both, just so the receiver still has the element of surprise. I, also, will wrap my card in bubble wrap. I use the 67 cent stamp, or sometimes 2 of them to mail them. If I'm not sure, I will go to the Post Office so the right postage is on there. I always print on the bottom left side of the envelope: PLEASE HAND STAMP.

There are lots of great tutorials out there on making envelopes especially for mailing thick cards with embellishments. Of course, they will cost more than a regular letter to mail.

My Mother's Day cards were bulky so I also used bubble mailers and took them to the post office. So far my cards have always arrived in great condition mailing them this way.Wink Smile

I use a die from Papertrey Ink. I don't always use it, but I like the convenience of a quick run through my Big Shot & it works great for my bulky cards. Here is the link for it:
