Turtlebug....Your card is very striking. Love those colors together and the ribbon is perfect. Where do you get all these cute brads?

Nana Donna....Your #1 is a perfect Ad Color card with a very pretty background paper. Nice embossing and great corners (I'm on a corner kick). Is the sentiment a stamp? It's a perfect size for the label. I agree about the card....something a little off, not sure what. I think I might like it better without the dark swirl in the middle circle. What do you think? I found out that this color combo is not the easiest to work with. LOL.

Your #2 card came out wonderful. I love that color combo. I've never heard of Glubers!!! I'll have to check them out. The flowers sure came out nice. What Spellbinder's branch is that? I really like the way it looks.....not that I need to buy another "branch!" LOL Have fun playing cards tonight!

Dee – thanks for the information on taking photos – yours always look so good!

BingoLady – You had jury duty and managed to make a card! Your card is really pretty in the ad colours! Was there a verdict in the case on Friday?

Christine – glad you found us! Join us when you can!

Turtlebug - Great sketch #2 in the ad colours! A very uplifting card for someone on the mend! Love, love your purple animal print card! I just started CCR last weekend and so far so good. I am a regular user of Gypsy so the transition was easy and Donna was great in giving me a few pointers too!

Donna – Wonderful card for Sketch #1 in the ad colours! The crystal lacquer looks good! Love your birthday card are such beautiful flowers! Need to check out those Glubers!

I have 2 cards designed, paper chosen for one so you’ll see some creations later on today or tomorrow. Enjoy your Saturday!

Bingolady.....Very pretty card with nice colors. Loved the plaid paper. What, no embossing??? Well, you made up for it by using one of my favorite MS border punches! LOL.

Gisele....Wonderful Anniversary Card for #2. I especially liked the banner cut. Very pretty. Your #3 card just shouts of Spring and warmer weather. I like the BG paper you used and the ribbon.

Hi Dee,
I buy most of my Brads at Michael's. I have had most of them a year or more, I have not bought any in a long time. Michael's seems to have cut back on the amont of space it allows for them and the selection has be very generic and limited for a while. Hope you have a better time of finding some really cute/nice ones.

Good morning! I managed to complete Sketch #1 so I actually made all three sketches this week. woohoo! I will be back tonight to comment on cards.

Here is Sketch #1. I used Preserves which I've had for some time but never made any cuts. Also used CCR and it worked well!

Bingolady....Wow, what a nice #1 card. Not sure why you wouldn't like it, but I like everything about it. I like the colors and especially how you embossed with circles on the middle cut. Very nice corners....I'm not familiar with that cartridge.

I think you are right about the stores carrying less brads. I don't seem to see them on cards as much as before. I think buttons and bling are more popular.

Gisele....Wonderful take on Sketch #1. The fruit looks good enough to eat!!! I like the pretty strawberry paper you used and also the corner punch.

Be back later,

Dee

Dee , the corners I just cut them out with the scissors. And the gray

Turtlbug, I realy like the corners you used. They are very pretty.
And all the colors you used, very colorful. Teaching you and Donna, all
this things have really paid off.LOL LOL LOL

Gisele, what a wonderful card,I like the idea of using the fruit cuts. And
adding the paper with the strawberries. Now I have to go buy me some fruit, I

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Here is my sketch #3
Diamonds are cut using good old George cartridge.
center of the diamonds are brads. Sentiment stamped and heat embosser.
Trying to build up my male birthday cards

OK here is the final version - I did intend to put a skinner strip on it, I think
it looks better Thanks for all the input

BingoLady – Wonderful Sketch #3 – the patterned plaid with the green look really good together! Hard to believe that you didn’t use an embossing folder! LOL Great Sketch #2 – I didn’t realize that Straight from the Nest had some circle cuts too! Totally agree with you about DUI – unfortunately it still happens!

Turtlebug – your Sketch #1 card turned out well! The solid colours work well with the patterned background. Love the corner cuts!

Donna – Great male birthday card – love the turquoise and brown combination! I would suggest adding the strip on the card.

Have a great evening everyone!

Bingolady....I think I must have had my notes mixed up about the corners. LOL. I also didn't know that SFN had the scalloped circles on the cartridge. I need to get my books out and look at them. I liked the colors you used, the embossing, and the MS Butterfly punch. Using 3 layers looks good.

Nana Donna....I really like this male birthday card. Wonderful colors and embossing. The brads look perfect as does your heat embossed sentiment. I think I like the brown stripe on the second card, but maybe make it only as thick as the brown diagonal ones.

I see where you said that the Paper Trimming Cartridge is a Circle one. Do they still have that?

I think I'm going to have to give CCR a chance. Everyone seems to be doing so well with it.BigGrin

Hi Dee,
Not sure if you are commenting on one of BingoLady's card, but in case you are talking about Post #41, it is a card I made. I wasn't liking it too much cause I thought I had too many circles going on with the pattern paper, corners and center embossing...didn't want to get anyone dizzyLOL!! The corners are from "Paper Trimmings" cartridge. It is only available to The Circle members...I borrowed it from NanaDonna.

Thanks Gisele & Dee for the input about the brown strip. I agree I liked it with the strip also but thought maybe it should be a tad thinner.

Dee - yes Paper Trimmings was a circle cartridge from a year or two ago. They do still have the Circle but it has changed a lot. You can now join/purchase for 3000 Rewards credits which is what I did this time around. I had been in since day one and was not going to join again till they did the Rewards things, since there is nothing in the rewards anyways.

Dee- TRY CCR I know you will like working with it. I do not cut anything directly on the Cricut I always use CCR.

#1 and Ad Colors - Very nice, the dark blue cut around the large gray circle is very pretty and delicate. Like the Spellbinder tag with the pearls. Like me with all the circles on my #1 card, I think your card would still look pretty without the dark blue swirl in the middle and with the tag centered. Too many swirls...IMOWink.

#2 and Ex. Credit - LOVE the way the flowers with the Glubers turned out. You did a great job for making them for the first time. Like the floral BG paper and the "perfect" BannerBigGrin!!
#3 - LOVE this card! Great colors and pattern paper choice. The diamond cuts with the metal Brads make it a perfect male card. IMO a more narrow strip in the brown color would look nice to group the panels together and separate the checked pattern from the solid color

BingoLady
#3 - Very nice! Love the green and matching plaid BG paper. Nice job on the matting of the diamonds and like how you worked the sentiment into them.
#2 - Very colorful, like the color combo of the circles and the layered butterfly. Very nice!

Gisele
#2 and Ex. Credit - Cute card! Like the happy couple in the car. The banner with the delicate cut and the year they married adds a special touch.
#3 - Nice idea with the kites, like how you made them all different including the cute tails. Like the clouds in the background and the bright colorful flowers, too!
#1 - I have that same BG cardstock, like the way you used it and the fruit cuts are so cute and colorful. Like the way you used the fruit sliced, instead of whole.
Glad you are liking the CCR. Hope to start using it too, but am having trouble signing into the new version. NanaDonna said she would look and see what is going on with it, she is more knowledgable with it.

OK, my #1 card was so so horrible (IMO) that I slightly re-did it. I did not want to spend a lot of time and product on it because it still may end up in the permanent recycle bin Blushing but it is a bit better, just a tinnie bit

I removed the picture in the first post because it was just that badCrying

NanaDonna,
Liking your second #1 sketch card better than the first. I LOVED the white circle cut the first time, but the swirl you had in the middle took away from it. IMO, on the 2nd card the center now really pops more on it's own and shows off that pretty delicate cut. LOVE it!!
Just wish you had not removed the post of the first card, so everyone could compare the two differences....AND NO, the first one was NOT ..."that bad"! ThumpUp

Hello everyone. My first week of hosting is coming to an end, and I just wanted to say "thanks" to all of you for joining in and making my first-time hosting easy and fun. Gisele will host next week and I've already sent her the new Ad Colors. I can't wait to see the sketches she comes up with.

So you guys know I'm moving and now I can show you another item I worked on. Hopefully this will load since this is a new area of the board. I also got sketch one completed. This is a birthday card for my grandfather. The dog on the front of the card is their dog. I just cut around the face and had the picture printed out small to fit the card.

If it doesn't show up after I post, then I'll come back later on this evening to do it.

Hello ladies... wow where did this week go? Unfortanately I only got to one of the sketches this week and that was only because I was out of work on my acct Sunday night so in between checking in every hour I got my sketch done. Now I have to work tomorrow night to make up for it.

Hopefully can finish up my daughter's project up tonight so I can have my table back (it is also our kitchen table...oops, lol). First she had to read a science fiction/fantasy and then has to design a gameboard based on her book...not a fast project. She decided we need more trees so off to cut those (thank gosh for the cricut).

Sketch #3...ad colors. Can you tell what I did wrong?

Cartridge: Celebrations for the balloons and celebrate.

LisaW,
#3 - Very cute with the assorted designs on the balloons. Like the way you shadowed the balloon cuts with the gray color and the BG paper pattern works well with all the other details.
Let's see what did you forget....Oh, looks like you forgot to use the dark blue from the Ad Colors...am I right???Wink Wink
