Can you use your cricut to cut burlap? Or do you mean a different die cutting machine like the cuttlebug? I'm intrigued. I guess I don't spend enough time on crafting sites or I'd know this stuff! lol

Gwynne turned me on to the yes paste, and now it is my go to for adhering my paper to chipboard. It dries fast and sticks perfectly. I have never used e6000.
My daughter uses it on her jewelry she makes. She says it is great. I also like glossy accents for embellishments and I like mod lpodge. I am still in the planning stages right now on my projects. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Penny a little about myself:
I love living on the country, going for walks in nature. I am a Christian married to my husband for 37 years. I have two children Stacey 36, Keith 34. Three grandchildren Lola 7, Kylie 14 and Jarid is 22. I have four cats Hunter, Noel, Red and Popeye.and a dog named Chase. Two cats were rescued and so was our dog.
I am retired from banking after 26 years in 2008. So now my husband and I are just hanging around the house together. I love to go on scrap booking retreats with my friends. And spending time with my family. My husband and I have just picked up the hobby of metal detecting. It is a lot of fun and we can get in some exercise too. We have an inflatable boat that we love to take out and just relax trolling around the local lakes.

I think that covers a lot if you have any questions just ask away.

Now for you. Do you wear jewelry? Do you like dangles? Do you like mini albums? Do you like banners? Do you like baskets or decorative boxes? Do you like shadow boxes or altered frames?

Can you think of anything you would really LOVE to receive in your box?

That's it for now.

Cheryl

I don't wear jewelry because I am outside in the dirt six days a week. I really am not a girly girl, I usually dress in jeans and a t-shirt. However, I do like flowers, glittery/sparkly things, lace, and ribbon. I love the outdoors and nature in general. Mini albums, decorative boxes, altered frames all would be fine. I think ATC could be a lot of fun to swap, what do you think? And of course gift bags and tags are always useful.

How about you what is your style or is there anything you would like to receive?

JCI... I did finish the baby shower invitations, (YAY) I have to start on the banner next. Once I am done with the baby banner, I will get started on these projects. I don't have to do the party favors until we know how many people will be at the shower and that won't be for another month or so... so I should get plenty done by then!! I'll keep you posted!BigGrin

This swap is a few weeks down the road for me...but I have been finding some ideas and saving and checking out patriotic papers! So my brain is working on this swap, just not my hands!

and just a friendly reminder for everyone to check in by Monday. I'll probably get into habit of making sure everyone checks in by Monday evening or Tuesdays. And just every two weeks thru end of June is fine. July will get stricter, if need be. Though I really see no issues in the future - great group of swappers have joined...

jci - just realized i need to mail the first part of July to make the deadline. Works for me - finally having things back in order is huge - I can scrap little bits of each day again!

today is my shopping day for the majority of this swap. Heading to the 'big city' (yep, country girl here) with a friend. You know those cities - ones with more than one place to find scrappy things LOL LOL . Archiver's has make and takes going (hope they are fun ones) and some other stores have mother's day specials. I am looking forward to spending time drooling/looking at all the new product! Of course purchases are required!BigGrin

Have fun shopping!

I saw someone posted that Archivers is going out of business or filed bankruptcy or something...

Maybe you'll find good deals, if they are clearing out merchandise! lol

No Archivers around here, so no big deal to me anyway. lol

Question(s): Is everything we make for this swap supposed to be either red, white & blue or a combination? Or can other colors be included as long as any of those 3 are prevalent?

I started making something and realized it wasn't all in the RWB theme. Just don't want to spend my time on something that isn't in the rules BigGrin

you can make items that aren't RWB or any combo. Chances are, any thing you make will have a touch of one of the colors anyway....or a shade of the color....just because they are colors you see in the summer time - ie turquoise or beach blues....

I would rather you be more worried about making stuff for your partner that is nice and that she will like or enjoyand/or find useful.

Yes, I want you to stick to the colors for the majority of the swap....but no one is going to grumble if you make something with other colors prevalent. Well, unless you make something all pink and your partner hates pink.... That would be a no-no! But that's common sense to me.

well, I made 3 of the same things today and made one RWB and the other 2 are colors that my partner likesBigGrin

I think that works out okay!!!!

Not everything I am making will be RWB but most of them will have one or more of those colors incorporated within.
I am also trying to do a bunch of different techniques.

Love that picture... velcro is a great invention!... Waves to Terri, and especially to all the Moms out there!

As for following the RWB, I'm planning to deviate some (ie if the theme is summer vacation, or BBQ), but I think all our partners will appreciated just being able to swap with all the creative gals here.. LOL LOL

It's going to be in the 90's here, so, going to try to plant some vegetable seeds before I roast..have a good day everyone!
