I have a gypsy and its all Iuse. I dont have a computer to bring with me to my camp or when I do scrapbook days with my friends. So the craft room is of no use to me. I dont want to have to pack up all my carts to bring with me.
Since I have heard that they are discont. the gypsy I have not bought one cartridge. No reason to buy more if I wont really be using them. Confused
Thanks Becky

Thank you everyone for responding, I just wanted to see what the demand for the Gypsy was and it looks like a lot. Keep in mind, this is ONLY the MB Members that wanted to Respond, NOT ALL Consumers that have purchased or used the Gypsy.

I really wish PC would see how much it is wanted and used and reconsider designing a Newer Larger Screen, in Color, Gypsy. Like I said, the Gypsy was one of their BEST designed Products PC sold.

I think if there is anything ever, it would be an app. to run on a tablet. Though I personally like having a separate device just for cricut designing.

Yes I own a Gypsy but rarely use it.
I use it more for searching my carts when I'm looking for a certain cut. I would never get rid of it though, I like that I have the option of taking it with me on the go or if I'm not feeling well and I can't sit in front of a computer, I can play with it while laying down!!

I also agree with having an App that can be used with a tablet, that would be awesome!!

I am curious who owns, has owned and uses their Gypsy.

Please respond:

Yes, I own a Gypsy and use it
Yes, I own a Gypsy but don't use it
No, I don't own a Gypsy

Thank you, I really want to see how many are currently using their Gypsy.

I do have a gypsy and I use it, I love my gypsy. I went thru 3 before I ended up with one that worked. But I lost my carts that were on the original one, PC didn't relink them to my new one. And I had the carts! But I love my Gypsy! Would love a bigger screen though.

Yes I have a Gypsy. I almost never use the carts as packaged. In fact, I was at a crop a month ago and their machine didn"t have G updates and I was forced to use carts. I had to get help to refresh my memory on how to cut without a g. LOL! To be honest, I rarely used my Expression before I got a g. I use it alot more now!!

I think it's VERY interesting how many posted on this post AND the number of people coming in to read the post in a short amount of time.

I DON'T OWN A GYPSY.....doesn't mean I never wanted to own one. I had always hoped to find one at a more reasonable price (considering all other monies I have spent for this hobby), but I never did find one. It amazes me when someone comes on here to say they bought one for $20....or some great deal like that! Well, I would have paid more than that, but I'll never find a deal like that.

I DO THINK there are some great reasons for owning one....the argument that when we're on vacation we want to be on vacation would have been one I would have used, except that, many times later in the evening and you're not ready to go to bed.....it would be quite calming to pick up the Gypsy and do some creating!!! That's relaxing to me. AND, it's not taking away from family; because, they're all already asleep.

Well, this is a very interesting post.

Yes, I own a Gypsy and use it. I got it at HSN launch and paid a lot for it. Bought a second one for a friend from Michael's and paid a lot for that one as well. Loved the idea of not having to carry around cartridges. I have over 300 hundred and wanted to have them in one place.

I LOVE mine!! I was so frustrated with just trying to use the E. Once I got my Gypsy and figured it out, it opened up all kinds of possibilities for me.

I would miss it so much if it dies, that I bought an extra one "just in case".

I could see where a larger screen would be beneficial for me and others with older eyes. An app for Ipad or other tablets would be a good thing too.

I like the idea of being free of a computer and internet access because I use mine a lot at church with no wi fi. Without my G, I could not create for my Sunday School class at church.

Would be LOST without my Gypsy. I love CCR and am using it more and more, but the need for internet is limiting.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my Gypsy. I don't think I can cut without it. I go on a scrapbook weekend twice a year down near a bay and the internet comes and go. So I don't want to be tied to a computer. When we take long trips with the kids in the car, they have their DSI's , I have my Kindle and Gypsy. I will often design on the road and when we get back I just plug my Gypsy in and cut. It's wonderful.
I got my 11 year old daughter one for Christmas two years ago. It was an awesome deal. I got her a Gypsy and baby Cricut for $56. If I had foreseen the future and the Gypsy so hard to get I would have gotten a couple for that price.

Yes,Yes,YesBigGrin I own a GYPSY, love my Gypsygirl and only use it now. I need to buy another just in case something should go wrong with it. Instead of discontinuing the Gypsy, PC should have been improving it with updates - Big Mistake PC. There are still some of who like to take our crafting with us (to work everyday and everytime I get a spare moment I'm creating). I am not taking a laptop with me and I do not want my crafting mixed up with my computer. I have enough drama with the cricut machines as is. Having Imagine issue, but will post on another post. The Gypsy was a perfect idea and it sold well, however, I understand all the trouble people are having with the gypsy and are disgusted. PC big mistake!!!!!
