My sister has a baby shower activity that calls for attendees to iron shapes on to a burp pad. (1)Suggestions for the adhesive (wonder under etc) to attach to the fabric before cutting (2) Settings on Cricut Create to cut out these shapes.

Other people have had good success with fabric and heat and bond. I did not. I tried everything that was suggested and wasn't happy with the results. Have you thought about heat transfer vinyl? You don't have to use the regular vinyl. You could try one of the flocked types. I have much better luck with the vinyl.
