I'll have to look - I know I posted pics on another swap. I have taken over the linen closet that now holds my overflow of alterables.

My room is packed and fairly small at 10 x 10. In the closet I have a large expedit. I have 4 Alex's, a tall and a short trolley, a heavy duty Oragami metal tiered shelf for paper, and an Ikea desk that has the cubbies on the bottom and an etched glass top. I also have a couple of things in my room as they just don't fit. I need to sell my Imagine.

I posted the poem we started on it's own thread. Someone suggested we place it as a sticky but because I can't do that, I thought this would be just as good.

We ended up sitting together by accidentBigGrin These 2 young ladies are SUPER talented.(and very nice I might add)
I had a fun day and really enjoyed myself. A little nervous but I did okay.

While the girls went right at it, I was a bit out of my element!!! I think I was trying not to make my book look messy when actually that was what we were supposed to be doing.LOL I had a few blobs of distress paint here and there that I thought I could spread out a little but that didn't happen. So I just had to keep adding paint and ink to the area until I got it to blend in a bit.
When I showed DH, he said it looked old. So I guess it came out okayBigGrin

Tim and his assistant Mario were super!!!! VERY friendly and personable. If you need anything, all you had to do was ask. Everyone got an apron( Tim signed mine) his configurations book, a kit with all the papers, etc. that would be needed. As we went along assembling, inking, distressing, he would show us the next step and hand out more supplies. Lots of idea-ology stuff!!!!!
Of course they want you to buy his products so they give you a paddle with your number on it When you want to buy the product he is talking about you raise your paddle and someone comes over. They add it all to a bag and you pay when you leave. I was under $100 so I did goodLOL

I'll post a link to pictures once I get them in the computerBigGrin

Here is a link to pictures from the workshop. Not a lot of time for picture taking as we were very busyBigGrin I still have to add most of my embellies to the book.
Some of the tags were Tim's and the others were 4X6 "flags" that were made by the participants ahead of time. They were for display and will end up at hospitals or nursing homes if I read correctly.

Great pictures and just such an awesome experience! Just goes to prove you're never to old to learn new tricks! lol

A few years ago I went to a workshop back when that Zindorf gal was all the fad with her brayering techniques. I was so new to crafting and so out of my element at the time! I swear they all looked at me like I had 2 heads, 10 eyes, warts, etc.! I'm sure it was just me being apprehensive and nervous....but I totally understand how nervous you must have felt Jean! Who wouldn't be? In the same room as Tim Holtz! lol

Oh my gosh! If that store was waiting their turn for 7 years....I'll never see him in my general area!

I'm just so glad you all got to meet and have a wonderful time! We are all drooling here, for sure!

I do have one question though....

what did you use to cover all those little boxes? What kind of glue and paper...was it hard to cover all those small areas?

Okay, 2 questions...

I had so much fun and it was so great to meet you, Jean. Such a super nice lady and I was happy to get to know you outside of the board. You're box came out great - I need to finish up the inside and add all the little findings :)

ScrappinGwen - they had pre-cut paper that was scored so that made it pretty easy to cover the boxes... We used Ranger Glue 'N Seal to paste them done... Paper was French Industrial (I think)...

Paper is french industrial :) and gwynne, he does have a youtube video on how to do the config boxes. I do them a little differently but it all works. I think he does the fronts edges of the boxes with tissue tape in the video.

He did say that he has done some differently. Because you will see all of each box on the book, he cut and scored paper to fit each one. On the configuration boxes, he says you only need to do the back and bottom because you won't see the rest once it is hanging up. We did use tissue tape along all the edges. I watched the video last weekBigGrin

Most of us are not creating for the person creating for us; the list is in the OP. Smile

I have it in the opening post and in a separate post as a reminder that I was doing it differently - that with the exception of one pair, you will not be creating for the same person who is creating for you. I am sorry if there was any confusion.

Hi, there, Jean! It was so great to meet you! I was worried we might not meet you because we had gotten stuck in traffic and got there just in time. It was funny how we ended up sitting together anyway! I wasn't sure, at first, if it was you because I thought some other lady was waving at me (I guess she was waving at someone else). So I asked, "Are you from Rhode Island?" and was very happy when you said, "Yes".

Ladies, I thought her box looked wonderful! The great thing about the class was that Tim said that you could tailor it to your own taste. Man, did they give us a bunch of stuff to do just that. They had so many colors, stains, pads, paints... Tim and everyone were so nice. I bought my book, Compendium of Curiosities II and he signed it with no problem. His hand must have been hurting but he did it all the signing with a smile.

That paper, French Industrial, is awesome! My paddle went straight up to snap that up. Blushing But I am proud to say my bag of goodies was less than 60! (Let's not state the obvious - it's because I practically have everything else Blushing LOL )

I have some pics, too. I will post them tomorrow after work. Thanks, Jean, for posting yours.
