What are you trying to do?

Some images cannot be split. Are you using CCR?

Tell us a little more about the images/letters you're working with and maybe we can help.

Do you mean cutting the letters in half?

If so, (and you are using CCR, DS or a Gypsy) you could place a narrow rectangle through the letters and not weld them. That will cut the letter in half.

Are you refering to the split letters that people are using to make tiles and floating frames? I haven't done it in CCR, but I have done that in other softwares. If so, you draw a thin rectantangle thru the letter or image itself and then click "subtract" or some equivelent function that removes portions of a design. (for example, on the gypsy it used to be some function like hide contours that would subtract out portions of images) From that point, I usually add another thin rectangle to the cut side of each half to finish it off and weld.

Hope that helps.
