Thank you so much for another set of hockey sticks! They fit perfect with pictures on the page. I will post more photos as I get farther on the albums. Still creating, but hockey skate failure - off to get new blades before practice.

I have never joined a RAK before. I am in my second swap right now.

So, if I understand it, I can list up to 5 requests a month, then I need to cut the same amount. Are 5 requests required, or can you do less? Will there be a new thread for each month?

I'm thinking I will join and will list my request sometime this weekend. This is such a great idea!

Welcome....glad to have another new member! Yes, you list five requests, and there is a new thread for each month. However, you do not HAVE to grant five requests....you grant what you can do. GG

You don't have to list 5 requests, nor do you have to grant 5 wishes for others. We just don't want anyone only requesting and not granting, and we have a limit of 5 requests per person each month. And like GG said, we start a new thread the first of each month! If you have any other questions, just post them and these nice ladies will be happy to answer them. And WELCOME! Does anyone have Animal Antics that can cut a couple images for me? I saw a really cute one somewhere and would love to have something...I can not find anywhere to look at all the images on this cart. I know it is a Circle exclusive cartridge. Thanks so much.

Ok, here are my questions, and please bear with me as I am new to this.BigGrin

* What is the difference between a RAK and a SWAP?

* Should all of my wishes be listed together, or can I spread them out during the month?

* Is it OK to ask for 4 or 5 of a cut per wish?

* What is the best way to mail them?

* What is the best way to keep everything straight? Do I just go through all of the posts, and if a wish does not have GRANTED next to it, it is still OPEN, and I just PM the person (and post that I will take care of it)? When my wishes(s) is granted, I Edit the post to GRANTED, and then RECEIVED?

I know these are alot of questions, but I've never done a RAK before.

Thank you so much!

Thank you for the cuts, I got them yesterday in the mail. I love them.

I have sorted all my cuts that you ladies have sent me. I have a few ideas in using some of them already. I can't wait to get the projects I am currently working on done so that I can use some of these cool cuts.

Happy creating

* What is the difference between a RAK and a SWAP?

An RAK, or Random Act of Kindness, in regards to this particular one, is granting someone's specific wish, without receiving the same thing, or necessarily anything, back. In a SWAP you are receiving a similar item, that someone has made, as the item you are sending to someone. Hope that wasn't confusing.

* Should all of my wishes be listed together, or can I spread them out during the month?

They should be listed in one spot, though you can take the month to decide. I usually put TBD, to be determined, when I do not know what I want.

* Is it OK to ask for 4 or 5 of a cut per wish?

Yes, but usually if you want more than that, you should list it as a separate request, even though it is from the same cart. It kind of depends on how involved the cuts you are asking for are to make. You can ask for more than five in one request, but you should keep in mind how much work your granter will have to do. This is more my opinion than the rule, so it is best that grandmaJ handle this one....

o]
* What is the best way to mail them?

It depends on what you are mailing. If it is just a few cuts, a regular envelope should be fine. Most people include something in the envelope to keep it from being bent, like a piece or two of cereal box, chipboard, light cardboard, etc. If you have several cuts to mail, you can use a padded envelope or even a small box...it just depends on what you are mailing. Most cuts can be mailed in a regular envelope.

I go through the posts, as sometimes a wish is granted, but not listed as granted yet. You do not have to PM the person, unless you have some question about their cut. Listing that you are granting their request and asking for their address on the thread will suffice. And, you have it exactly right as far as your requests go.

I know these are alot of questions, but I've never done a RAK before.

Never fear asking questions. It is better to know than to guess. grandmaJ is our wonderful hostess, and she may have more to add to the answers I have given you. So glad you are joining. Hope I have been of some help. Blessings, GG.

Thank you so much![/color] BigGrin BigGrin

GG, thanks, you handled that very well!!

JoJoy, see, i told you everyone here is very nice!! Yes, GG is correct on all her answers to your questions. I might add, I try acouple times a week to do an update post, showing cuts that are not granted yet. So if you are looking for cuts to do, check the most recent one of them and move forward from there. It can get confusing on what is grantd and what isn't and some of us forget to edit and add GRANTED and RECEIVED so the update posts help a lot! ( I am actually getting ready to work on an update post now, so one of the next few posts should be one!) Also, if you add more wishes to your original post, be sure you post saying that you have added more of your wishes and your original post number where they can be found. (Hope that makes sense!)

JoJoy: I sent you a pm about sending you a table I use to keep track of the cuts I grant each month. I will sned it to you if you would like all I need is your email address.

I am not very smart when it comes to computers so I don't know how to post the file on here. If anyone else would like it let me know. If I didn't have it I would be lost.

If someone would like it just pm me your email and I will send it to you.

I can do your Garden Soup, just have to get the cartridge from my sister's today.

What colors do you want the page titles? And I assume size it big enough to look good across the page top? Haven't cut from that cartridge yet - so it should be fun!

1. Garden Soup No shadows
Clippers 1 with yellow handles and 1 like the book 3.25”
Water hose and sprayer Gray sprayer with med green hose3”
Row of Carrots 3.5”
Watering Garden for 12x12 page title
Farm Fresh for 12x12 page title
Growing Garden for 12x12 page title

Thanks for the Lawn Mowers!

What ever the book colors are or as close as you can get. And the size are for titles so I would say 5 to 6 inches long is good.

Thanks so much.
