Forgive me if this was asked/answered in another topic. I searched but didn't see it asked.

Can we use a 12x6 cutting mat with the Expression? I have the 12x12 mat, but many times I only have a small piece to cut and the 12x6 mat would be easier to manage.

I haven't tried it yet for fear of breaking something. LOL Logically, I don't see any issues with using the smaller mat, but I didn't know if it would throw off the machine or void a warranty.

Anyone know?

Thanks!
Liz

It is my understanding that you can only use the 12x12 or 12x24!

yeppers...those are the only 2 you can use in the expression...the rollers have to be able to grab onto something...so it has to go the whole length...

Thanks guys!

Here's another thought... could you use the 12x6 and put it in with the 12" wide (6" deep). That would allow the rollers to capture the mat.

Has anyone tried this?

Don't try it! I accidently was in a rush and put the wrong mat (6x12) in the expression. It got really, really stuck! It was difficult to get out. Mad

BigGrin I have done this many, many times with very successful results. All you have to do is trim the end of the 6 x 12 mat so that it is exactly the same length as a 12 x 12 mat, and you can use it sideways in an Expression. I find it to be very convenient for small projects! I use a piece of Scotch Tape on the cut end to make sure that there is no sticky part of the mat that will contact the large roller on the end. Enjoy!!

I just used a 6' x 12" this afternoon and have done so many times. I do trim off some of the length of the 6" to allow it to be the same width as if it were a 12" x 12". Works fine for me and I save my 12" x 12" for larger projects. Good Luck!
