1. If you can have two people to get it out of the box--its a good thing. This thing is heavy.

2. turn it on and do the update before trying to put the ink in. I tried to put the ink in first but couldn't get the latches to open. This took forever before I figured out it had to turn it on and let it run through its start up first.

3. If you bought it from HSN there is a machine update on the nursery tails cartridge. Insert this cartridge before using your machine

4. before you cut anything calibrate your machine

5. Stock up on white paper!

6. Have fun!

I may be showing my blond but... I was having all kinds of problems getting mine calibrated until I realized that I had left the strip on my 12x12 white cardstock. You know the strip that tells you the color and company name ... the kind you need to trim off with your paper cutter. Ya, unless you are really anxious to try this out. Well that little strip covers the bold black lines on the mat that Imagine needs to "see" so it can tell where the page ends. Blushing so silly! It worked perfectly when I trimmed that itty bitty strip off the edge of my now 12x12 paper. Just in case anyone else is overly anxious!
Hugs, Cara
