I bought some embossed paper from Michael's yesterday and tried to cut it with my Cricut. I had a lot of tearing, even when using the slowest speed setting and highest pressure and deepest blade setting. Are there any tricks to cutting this? The only thing I can think is cleaning my mat and trying again.

Thanks!

I have trouble too. I think it's because of all the hills and valleys that the embossing makes. The blade can't get a straight even cut. If there is a way to cut embossed paper I'm sure someone here will know the trick.....I hope Huh .

Never tried it, but could you flip it over and put the smooth side up? Then multi cut a few times... Might be worth a try. If you have a gypsy you can flip your image so it' still the right way if you cut it backwards!

If you flip it over it's still embossed, just the opposite, hills&valleys to valleys&hills. Some papers may have a smooth backside and maybe the multi-cut will help.
