How do I get my cricut to just make one cut for an image?
Trying to do a project and the machine keeps cutting over and over on the first image.
I have preferences set at default and I'm not sure what the default cutting preference is or how to change it to a "one cut".
I should add that I do have the Design Studio installed.

Help please.

make sure your multi cut button is not highlighted on your machine. That should make it only cut once

are you using design studio to make your cuts or just using the machine by its self?

Sorry I'm such a newbie with the Cricut even though I've had it for months.

I'm using the Design Studio to cut six (all the same) images but when I hit cut ....the machine keeps going over and over cutting the first image.

I have the original Cricut machine...the small one that takes the 6x12 inch mat. I don't see a multi-cut button on the machine itself.
But there is a multi-cut default (off) on the design studio....which I selected. And it is still doing the multiple cuts on the first image.
I hope I'm explaining this right.
Thanks for any help.

it sounds like you have multi-cut selected in design studio.
click preferences
click multi cut (the last option in the menu)
click off

If you want to cut six of the same object you'll need to copy and paste your design to different areas of the mat.

If the design is made up of more than one object you'll need to copy and paste each part of the design.

Select Copy (Edit, Copy / Ctrl C / 2nd button on the left hand toolbar) to copy the object to the clipboard.
Then select Paste (Edit, Paste / Ctrl V / 3rd button on the left hand toolbar) to paste the object. It will be pasted ON TOP of the original object. While it's still selected use the top left handle on the object to move it to another position on the mat. (Or use the arrow keys on your keyboard).

Keep pasting and moving until you have the required number of copies.

Forgot to mention.... Multi Cut is used when you're cutting thicker cardstock or chipboard for example.

You can also use it on regular cardstock if you find the paper rips during cutting. Lower the blade pressure/depth and use a multicut of 2 or 3.

I had the same problem. I had a design and it kept cutting over and over the same area. I was using design studio and I didn't realize that if you copied and paste (it's not like the copy and paste function in Word) that you have to move the object Like Narelle replyed. Learn as you go! I have learned a lot through Narelle blog! (thanks Narelle!)
