My appologies if this has been discussed before. I couldn't find a search bar to look up posts on the message board. If there is one, and I am too blind to notice, please point me in the right direction for further questions!
I will be getting my cricut expressions this week and would like to hook it up to my laptop computer. I need to know the exact type of connector cord is needed. I have a usb port, 16 pin printer port, and ethernet port to my laptop. Will this work with the cricut? Where would I purchase the cord? I saw a cord on the cricut site, but feel that was to connect the cricut to an outlet.
I am looking forward to being part of the community and posting when I can.

it's a standard A/B USB cord like you use for a printer.

you can find them at any office supply store, walmart, etc.

you don't need to connect it to the computer unless you're using Design Studio BigGrin

welcome to the boards!!!

I will be using software with it..........Thank you so very much!
I went to Hobby Lobby today and used my 40% off coupon on some wonderful cardstock and enjoyed the 50% off ribbon. First projects will be Valentines Day cards for all my relatives. If I feel computer savy, I just might post photos of my first projects.
Again, TY for the info.

If you have a printer for your computer, you already have the cord you need. Unplug it from the printer and plug it into your Cricut.
