I am ready to tackle my first calendar. I want to make a 12x12 one and just got the Designer Calendar on Black Friday. What does everyone use for behind the calendar (cardboard, blank calendars, etc), or to put it all together? Any tips would be appreciated!! Thanks!

I make calendars for my office at school (I'm a literacy specialist) that I change monthly. I use a magnetic dry erase board. There are pictures of Oct. and Nov. on my blog. December will be up tomorrow.

I also make a calendar for my classroom ( and my teaching partner's) what I do is place the grid on 12 x 12 scrapbook paper according to the season (Sept was paper that looked like doodled loose leaf , Oct. was a glitter spider's web , Dec. is a Nativity ) then I glue that on to half sheet oak tag ( I use the kind with the lines). Then dress up the oak tag with cuts and stickers (they can't be too puffy because I laminate it at the teachers store .) after I laminate the calendar I cut the numbers and stick them to card stock that coordinates with the scrapbook paper ( I orginally used the little squares from the calendar grid to put the numbers on but it was too think and didn't laminate well and took too much time to do.). I have a home laminator and I send the glued down numbers though that then cut them out . I use round velcro to attatch thr loop side to the numbers and the hook side to the middle of each grid box, this way I can use the calendar again .
Hope that helps you a little.Sorry I don't have pictures. I will try and get a picture of the one in my class and post it.
Hope that helps you a little.

please take a look at our Aussie Calendar on my blog. We all made 12 of the same page and sent to me and I sorted them and sent them back to everyone - so everyone received a full calendar with every page being made by someone different...
