Hello Everyone,
I am new here on the boards. I recently entered a drawing at a local Flower Factory store and won a brand new Cricut Create cutting machine. I was so thrilled, because I never win anything.
After unpacking and setting up the machine I discovered that it would not turn on.
The power cord is working fine (I tried the cord on my daughter's Cricut personal), I tried a new cartridge, tried a new outlet, still no power.
If I manually slide the cutting unit from side to side I sometimes see a flickering green light go on momentarily by the power on button.
However, it does not stay on. I cannot perform a reset. The screen never comes up either.
I called provo craft CS and they said I will have to bring it back to the Flower Factory to get a replacement, since mine was not a purchase they
said that mine was not covered under any warranty. Hmmmmmmm.
I called Flower Factory and she said they will need to contact headquarters to find out what to do and will get back to me.
I called today, and I am still getting the run around. I asked one of the workers if I should bring in the defective machine and she said not to, that there just might be a simple solution to get it to power up. I believe it actually might be a major problem with the unit, motherboard failure, electrical problem, etc.
I know I should be patient, but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get my machine to power on, or how to get one
that works.
I really like my prize, but so very disappointed that it is not working
Thanks so much.
Kathy

Update! Good news!
Just wanted to let you know that I finally got my problem solved.
I decided to call Flower Factory one more time and I was able to return
the defective machine for a new one. I kept my fingers crossed on my way home
hoping this one would work, and it does! Yipeee!

That is great!

As far as the warranty goes, I would have called PC again and talked to someone else. Asked for a supervisor if necessary. The fact of the matter is you got a new machine that was defective so by law they have to fix the problem. The fact that you won the item instead of purchasing it makes no difference. New items are guaranteed to be free of defects.
