I have tried a couple of different things (glass etching, leaf pen) for the glitter Christmas ornaments I am making for gifts and haven't liked how any of them have turned out.

I have seen the vinyl on the ornaments and thought I would try that. My question is what kind of vinyl? Do you just use the regular kind that you can pick up at Joanns or Michaels? I thought that was repositionable, so would it stay on? Or do I need to try and find the permanent vinyl?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

Thanks so much! I'm from Michigan too! In fact, just came back from Meijer. I'll have to head back and check the contact paper. Didn't even think to look there!

The Cricut vinyl works pretty good. I didn't like the Paper Studio kind, it didn't stick at all. I have some from a friend that owns a sign shop and that is the best to use. It sticks so much better. But if you don't have time to order from someplace like Craft vinyl, then the Cricut does pretty good. Here are some I just posted in the vinyl forum.

I also used the Cricut vinyl on mine; I really thought it was very easy to use and I like the way they turned out.
