I am still trying to get the hang of my cricut. I haven't used it that much so I am not sure if this is the problem or not. When it starts to cut the first part of the image, it tears a piece of paper and then holds onto it so the rest of the image doesn't cut. Does this mean the blade is dull and need a new one? Or what can I do so this doesnt happen? Any advice would be great!

Thanks,
Shelly

I've had similar trouble when cutting thinner papers; heavier "weights" like card stock seem to cut better. Have you tried decreasing the pressure and blade depth? If you haven't used it that much, the blade shouldn't be dull. Am sure the helpful people here will give you some better answers.

Try less pressure, slower speed, and make sure your blade housing is aligned properly. The little black arrow should be directly to the front. Sometimes that makes a difference. Construction paper never works very well, or any other paper that tears easily. Good luck!
