I've had my Expression for a few days now, and am having a hard time wanting to cut letters/images larger.

For example, I want to do one of the purses/bags in the Forever Young series to something like 12+ inches to make a centerpiece for my friend's birthday, but all I get is a message stating that "Characters won't fit..."

Can someone please help/enlighten me on what it is I'm doing wrong, and how I can correct it?

Many Thanks!

It's my understanding that when cutting for a 3d project, the Expression interprets the 12" to be for the finished project. However to make a purse that is 12" the cut image is larger than 12", so it won't fit on the mat. You can reduce the size until the Expression cuts to get the largest purse possible. Hope this helps.

You can select "fit to page" and it will cut the biggest size available.

you can try to fit to page and the portrait button on at the same time. this has worked for me on some things, but don't be surprised if you still don't get large cut. i haven't been able to get larger cuts on many things i have wanted. anita

Do you own Design Studio or a Gypsy? You can adjust the size of your image in the program and in many cases make it bigger than what the E alone will allow.
Are you using a 12x24 mat? That may make a difference also.
