I've been thinking about this on and off. I'm looking for an inexpensive and easy program for
this. Any suggestions? What do you use?

I use Photoshop Elements and use layers, white text and lower the opacity so that the photo shows through the watermark, but the watermark is just enough to read.

If you google watermark photos or something like that, you'll find some programs and also some online programs for watermarking. I have only used Photoshop Elements, so I cannot recommend any program.

If you have photo editing software, chances are you can create a watermark. Google tutorials on creating a watermark and you'll find some great information.

Youtube has some tutorials also.

Here's one I made by creating a brush that says Created by Mary. I manipulated the transparency (opacity) and did some other things to it. It can barely be seen, mirrors the colors in the card, but would stop someone from claiming as their own...as if they would want to. I didn't use the copyright symbol because I don't own the copyrights to the Cricut images I cut, just the rights to cut and use the images. If you wanted, you could add a date to the photo itself so you can prove when you created it.
