well now on top of all the snow we've got, we got freezing rain this evening while we were at the hockey game. The roads are just lovely now and I have to go out early tomorrow morningGlare! All the new uniforms are in for the Special Olympians, so I was asked to go help sort them. Got most of my shopping finished up today. Went to Wal-mart and Safeway and neither were exceptionally busy...I was quite surprised.

Nancy: hope they figure out what's going on. Glad you had a nice evening with the kids

Angie: hope the storm lets up soon for you. Thanks for your kind comments on the scarf. As far as the teacher goes, she came and thanked me again for the scarf and said how nice and cuddly it was and gave me a big hug. Says she thinks about me every time she wears it.

BingoLady: TFS your pic with us.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Take care and happy crafting

Debbie - So jealous of you having your presents all wrapped.

Angie - Hope your snow quits and it warms up soon. Seems like a lot of places are getting snow that usually don't. We can't check on our motorhome until we are able to go down there, which probably won't be until February. It is in a storage lot.

BingoLady - Nice to put a face with the name. How did your tamales come out?

Sandra - How awful! Freezing rain. Not fun! Hope you can get a break in the weather and the shoveling. Be careful on those roads. That's great you have your shopping done. I have mine almost done. Just a few more little things to get. But I have a lot of projects to finish making and sewing. Hoping I have enough time.

Nancy - Sounds like you had a long shopping trip with the kids. But you got a yummy dinner. Sorry your weather is so bad also. Be careful. Hope the weather is good for your breakfast.

Had a big Christmas dinner at Church tonight. I went and helped with it. Went at 4 to help with set up, helped serve and then clean up. Got home about 9:30. Been a long day as GS came at 5 a.m. Tomorrow we are having a family dinner for my daughter and her DH's birthdays. So will be another long day on my feet. I think I don't have to babysit next week, so I'm hoping to be able to finish my Christmas cards and finish up my Christmas projects.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and is safe in all the bad weather!

Well our weather has gotten better. It's sunny and nice, hopefully the snow will melt soon. They came and plowed 1 road so now we can at least get out, of course my husband found an excuse to leave and get out. Me I'm happy to stay home and stay safe.

Working on some Christmas projects. I took everything downstairs to the warm rooms.

Better get back to work.

Talk soon

Good morning girls,

Angie.. I read about your snow storm in the paper yesterday. I hope you don't run out of propane. Did the kids go out and build a snowman?? enjoy crafting

Shelly..I hope you enjoy the all the celabrations you need some time to yourself.

Sandra..Hope you are able to enjoy the game and your weather gets better

I have to say although I am back and forth at doctors appts. I like being able to just go and not worry about having my grand daughter. My poor sil was supposed to be off his foot but since all my problems he has been taking care of Abigail.

Should be nice today the brunch I am glad my family is coming along. We have been in this Garden Rail Road club for a long time but I just don't seem to fit in with all these ladies. They have their own click and stick together so I never really feel comfortable going to these parties. So I am happy my Daughter Patty and her husband Bob are coming and Ms. Abby.

I have had these women to my house every time to try and fit in just doesn't happen. They all go crazy over my crafts and always want a card or two to take home and show it off or little baskets I make. Oh well ...I will enjoy the food

Thank fully it poured last night and reached 40 deg so the snow melted and driving conditions are good

Well I better start getting ready

Hoping everyone has a great day

Hi all. Well, it is 30 degrees warmer then last Sunday. It was in the 20`s today!

Angie, I saw all those snow pictures that you posted. It looks like your kids were having fun.

Sandra, yuck, freezing rain. Drive carefully!

Lydia, it is nice to put a face to your name. BigGrin

Nancy, nice you had company at your dinner.

Shelly, I'll bet some time on your own will be nice.

I was really wanting to get my coat done, but I need to get some gift sewing done. Spent this afternoon helping Megan with a project. Dug out my jukebox! It was kind of nice as I was using several carts at the same time.

By Saturday night all of our kids will be home!!! Love

Spent the morning and into the afternoon sorting and packaging uniforms, now I have 4 big boxes in the back of my van to take to bowling on Tues. Went by Michael's on the way home to drop off a bag of squares I had knit for the Blanket Canada campaign they do and to pick up a punch I thought I needed. Got it home and realized I had one exactly the same size, so we returned it and got what I really needed after taking Troy home.

Angie: glad things are improving for you, hope you get your Christmas projects done

Joy: sounds like you and Megan had fun, I haven't used my Jukebox in ages

Nancy: glad your family was came with you to the brunch, hope you had a nice time

Shelly: sounds like a busy weekend for you, hope you get some time to yourself this week to rest and craft.

We are supposed to have fairly nice weather for a few days and then back into the deep freeze by Thurs. Hope we can survive the week at school with the kids...it might just be a long week!

Bye for now, take care everyone

Enough of this heat now, it is just draining!! temps should drop slightly on Wednesday and Thursday and then rise again. I just don't have the energy to get much done and it is far too hot to cook so am just nibbling at stuff which is not good!! Played with a new technique to make some cards - you end up with a collage effect and I have used stamps that I have not used before so it was loads of fun. The air con and glitter/embossing powder is not very successful LOL.

Debbie, I think it is fun to get out stamps and see what I can do with them! A lot have been a little neglected since I got a Cricut.

Sandra, I finally turned on my computer and opened your scarf picture. They are so pretty! I especially like the blue one!

Foggy out today. Errands to run this morning, and hopefully get my Christmas shopping completed.

We had so much wind and rain Sat. night into Sunday that when we got up and looked outside the white stuff was gone and just lots of flooding

The Brunch was really nice the restaurant sits on the Bay in a near by town very pretty we sat near the windows so Abigail could look outside and there were quite a bit of sail boaters which surprised me because it was about 35 deg.

The food was great they had a Hugh variety of breakfast foods, desserts, breads and roasts and lots of pasta dishes salads. Some people can eat and eat but me and Dh just ate like we would eat at home and DH ate lots of desserts. He said it was so good.

I came down with a cold and got a terrible phone call my cousin who went into the hospital for minor surgery and wound up having a massive stroke during the operation and 3 heart attacks after just passed away. They had her on life support which were not her wishes and decided to take her off. They said from her chain smoking it caused her heart to fail and she has never had heart problems!!

I was hoping to craft today and finish emblishing the accordion albums I made for my DD and DH. Not in the mood. Just cleaned, did wash and now I am going to relax.

Debbie... glad you enjoyed a new technique

Joy..hopefully you will get those gifts wrapped.

Sandra.. hope the weather isn't too bad

Nancy, I am so sorry about your cousin.

I thought I had my shopping done, and late this afternoon realized I forgot something. Blink

I am making sleeping bag covers/carriers for Kate and Megan. Got them about half done but had to put them away before Meg came after school. And just the hem left on my coat. It is pinned but it needs to hang overnight before I sew it.

I ordered a stamp from ebay this morning to finish a gift. I hope it gets here in time!!

four more days until we are off for 2 weeks...hope we make it! Got the kids' parcel off, minus the one thing I was waiting for (it didn't get delivered by my Avon lady) so I thought I could just mail it seperatly when it comes.

Joy: glad you are getting all your sewing done. Thanks for your kind comments on my scarves. Hope you get the stamps you ordered in time. I've been waiting for 2 parcels from the States that were both shipped on the 5th and they're still not here. Hope they get here soon otherwise I will have to come up with some different cards.

Lydia: hope you with the tamale contest. Good luck with your baking

Nancy: sorry to hear of your cousin's passing. Hope you get all your crafting done. Sorry about the snow coming your way...we do like to share thoughLOL!

Debbie: glad you had fun with your stamps. What kind of technique did you do?

Off to watch the Voice.

Take care everyone

Nancy, so sorry to hear about your cousin. It is always difficult news to hear but just seems to be worse at this time of year.
Sandra, I wasn't able to open the pic of your scarves :( I am sure that they are lovely. I wish I could post a pic of my new technique I tried, it is very effective. Have no idea what it is called, but you make gridlines on a piece of cardstock with a sponge dauber, sponge all over with a lighter coloured ink and then mask off a shape created by the gridlines and stamp within the shape doing this on all the shapes to make a collage effect. I did one in blues and stamped a nautical theme and that is my favourite but have also done different colours and birds, butterflies and flowers.

OMG!! this cold is horrible. I haven't been sick in years I am surprised I got this cold!!

Abigail is on her way because her daddy has an appt. with his foot specialist to see if he can go back to work. He has been taking care of Abigail so I don't know how his foot could have healed.

It seems some of our friends are sending E-Cards out DH says it is only 12.95 a year. So I said we can do it for the Clubs we belong to but I am not giving up my craft what I love to do I will still make care for close friends and the children.

It has been snowing all night and suppossed to keep on going.

Debbie that technique sounds really pretty.

Sandra... hope you get your packages in time..

Joy.. did you get your coat done yet?? would love to see pictures when it is done

Well let me get moving.

Have a great day all

Happy Birthday, Debbie! It is still Thursday here. LOL

Heading to my parents house to wrap gifts for my brother. He mailed things to my sister who took them to my parents house. She was supposed to wrap them but did get it done. And since my brother will be here on Sunday we decided I should go get them wrapped since it was supposed to be done already.Flapper

Hello friends! Man, I haven't been able to get on here in weeks! I use internet explorer & have done, to access this board, for a few years now. Never had any problems. All of a sudden I could not log in. Emailed cricut support & they said to use a different browser. So right now I am logged in with Mozillar Firefox. But what a pain, as that is not my normal browser. :(

I do everything else (email, facebook etc.) in explorer. So will just have to remember to open up cricut board on the firefox sometimes, to check in & see what everyone is up to!

Been having fun with my Mum. Can't remember when I posted last, but my Mum arrived on Dec 2nd & been busy every since! We went to a day crop together, which was fun. Went to see Straight No Chaser. If you don't know this group then do yourself a favor & google them or go on youtube to see them! They are a male acapella group of 10 men & they are fantastic! Mum loved the concert (I had seen them twice before), so was really happy.

Also went to see the holiday lights at Shady Brook farm in PA. That was amazing.
Then on monday we also went on the North Pole Express out of New Hope PA. That was super cute & saw Santa on board, had hot chocolate & cookie. Got a cute photo of me, my Mum & the 2 girls too, with Santa & Mrs Claus. Really nice.

Last night was cookie swap with some other moms I know. So that was fun too. Got some good cookies & chatted for a long time!

Friday & Saturday night me & Paul are staying over in Atlantic City at Showboat casino. Looking forward to that getaway! My Mum is here until Jan 2nd, so she is going to stay home with the girls & occupy them. Should be fun for everyone!

Oh & weather has been crazy here with snow every week since my Mum has arrived. LOL Looks pretty outside, but a pain to drive on when the roads are not plowed & we have to do errands.

Well, hopefully this posts. And I will try to check in using this new browser sometimes.

If anyone has suggestions on how I can log on using Internet Explorer though, that would be great!

Thought I would join you guys.
I am new to cricut, but not new to crafting.

So far I love my cricut.

I'm a mom of a 7 year old boy, I live in Calgary, AB. Had lots of snow a few weeks ago, we were only suppose to get a few cm today but it has been another lovely blizzard out. I hope the busses don't get cancelled for tomorrow like they did a few weeks ago. Tomorrow is the last day of school before Christmas break, and it is only a half day so I really need the few hours to finish wrapping presents.

I have a cat named Gizmo, he is a year old, he refuses to leave my christmas tree alone, i think i have redecorated it a dozen times in the past week, can not figure out how to get him to leave it be.

I also have a dog, her name is Oreo because her face looks like an Oreo cookie. She is harmless, just really hyper and full of energy.

I am engaged for the second time, yes I am only 28, first marriage was, well not good.

I am also a University Student studying Psychology.

It seems like between all that there is not enough hours in a day.

Look forward to chatting and getting to know you

Was working at finishing up some more cards for teachers at school and probably for some of the family. I'm a little choked with Canada Post as I ordered some stamps and die-cuts from 2 different places in the US to make some special cards and neither parcel has arrived yetCursing!
Did get the kids parcel off to Van., should get there before they leave to go to his mom's (I hope). It has turned cold here again and we got more snow, just a light layer though more is supposed to be coming.Angry!

Joy: hope you get your parcels wrapped. Thank you for the lovely card & picture, it's nice to put a face to the name.

Nancy: hope you feel better soon and sil's foot has healed enough for him to go back to work. I've really cut back on the number of cards I mail out...the price of stamps is silly and is supposed to be going higher next Mar. Quite a few of my friends use the e-type cards. I still make them for family and close friends though. Thank you also for your lovely card

Sharon: boy you've been busy since your mom arrived. Are you still finding time to workLOL? Hope you & dh have a nice time at the Casino. Have you tried switching to Google Chrome?

Ibean: hello and welcome from another fellow Albertan. I live in Spruce Grove just west of Edmonton. Sounds like you are a busy gal, hope you find more time for crafting. Good luck with your studies. I don't know about you, but I'm about done with all the snow we've been gettingGlare!

Better get back to my cards as Troy has his Christmas party at his group home tomorrow nite, Friday nite we have a volunteer Christmas party for the hockey team and Saturday nite another game.

Bye for now, happy craftingBigGrin BigGrin

It snowed last night, but not too much, maybe an inch. And THE SUN IS SHINING!!! We haven't seen the sun for quite a while. We had what is called an inversion which means gray skies, fog, and cold. Miserable. But today is lovely.

I am trying to get around to gift wrapping, but no such luck yet. Always something else to do.

Jill is supposed to come home tomorrow, but she is really sick today. Her "other mother" (a lady from her church who has taken Jill under her wing) is heading over to take Jill to the doctor. I told her to just ask the doc for something to knock her out and let her friend just drive her home. A different friend who lives up here but was down there for motorcycle racing and is already planning to ride with Jill.

Hey girls...remember me? Boy has it every been a whirlwind around our place. We went right from cycling season into football. And before football wrapped up we were in the middle of basketball! It's always something active around here.

We celebrated Christmas with my family the day after Thanksgiving. My husband has little time off this year, so we fit it in when we could. My parents made it down to my town this week to watch my son play a ball game. It was a nice visit.

We have our class party tomorrow. I'm room mom again this year. We are playing a few games and having snacks followed by the all-school singalong. It will be a fun day. We have several parties this weekend. We got a ton of snow two weeks ago and all our parties were rescheduled for this weekend!

I'm going to attempt really cutting back crafty spending in 2014 and will focus on creating more than ever. I am vowing to cut into that "too pretty to use" paper and started by making 18 boxes out of great paper for an upcoming cookie exchange. I was chatting with Debbie, and I was whining about my glue not working very well. She suggested using a hot glue gun, which worked brilliantly. I just wish I would have had that suggestion on box #2 instead of box #14! Sure worked like a charm...and it's still held together today!

I got to use "Quilted Christmas" or something similar to that the other day. I borrowed it from my neighbor to cut out an angel for a game we're playing at school tomorrow. It looked like a neat cartridge.

Guess I don't know too much news...just wanted to pop in and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a fabulous 2014!!

Hi everyone!

Nancy - So sorry to read about your cousin. Hard to loose someone, especially this time of year.

Joy - Hope Jill gets some meds and feels better so she can come home!

Debbie - Happy belated birthday!!

PedalPower - Sounds like you are really busy. Hope your early Christmas was nice. Have fun with all your activities.

Sandra - So sorry to hear your stamps didn't arrive. I hate that. Last year I ordered some vinyl from a lady online. She only lives about 30-40 miles from me. Took over 2 weeks to arrive. For some reason it had to go to Denver before me. Well now you can get started early on next year's cards when they arrive.

Ibeanforever - Welcome to the group!

Sharon- Sounds like you are having a great time with your mom. Have fun on your weekend away. I'm sure your girls will love having grandma all to themselves while you're gone.

Boy did we get hit with winter!! We have had the inversion like Joy quite bad for a couple weeks. They were advising people not to go out if they didn't have to. But last night we had freezing rain which they say has pushed it out. Can't tell because of all the snow we got. We probably have close to 9-10 inches. After the rain, just as the commute started, the snow hit on top of that sheet of ice on the roads. Took my DH over 1 1/2 hours to get to work. Usually takes 20 mins tops.

FINALLY got my Christmas cards made and in the mail. I know, I'm slow. I also got my neighbor gifts all embroidered and my GS pillowcase made. Just need to make his PJ's and his blanket. He is really in to Toy Story, so I am using that kind of prints in the items. I may get all my projects done in time! I also made my DH a bearded stocking cap. He shaved his beard off this summer, the first time in years and the only time he has kept it off for more than a few weeks since I have known him. He misses it and so I saw one on Pinterest and decided to make him one. He says his face is too cold in the winter. I will post a picture, when I get it finished.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello, everyone!
Finished wrapping presents last night! Laundry and packing today...we leave for Ohio tom'w am. DD is watching over the cat till they come out then our neighbor across the street will take over.

DD Had the official pinning ceremony the other day...she received her degree several months ago, but was recognized on Weds, for graduating with Medical Assistant's degree. Guess the file it too large and you have to click on it to see it.

Got my scarf finished...Flapper finally. Had to take it apart after I was 2/3rds done with it...found a few stitches I had dropped and it looked funny.
I posted it in the Knifty Knitters group here, but in case you didn't see it below... The blue one is my next scarf color to make.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!(family photo below, too)

Hi Girls,

I think I was the first person on L.I. (Suffolk County) to get the Flu. Knocked me right off my feet. DH said this last 6 months have been terrible for me. no kidding. Between vertigo all kinds of blood work. I think that was probably it going to see different doctors and visiting labs I probably caught it. Feeling a little better today. I couldn't even get off the couch.

The other night they closed all the highways because of snow and ice it took my DD and grand daughter 2 1/2 hours to get home which normally would be 20 to 25 min. Patty said she was singing alot of nursery songs in the car.

Hey Sonya... so nice to hear from you again lets make 2014 a better year and hear from you a little more often LOL I know you are super busy with your son school and your hobbies but it is always nice to hear from you.. After making paper turkeys for thanksgiving I bought a glue gun what a difference very sturdy and so much easier to adhere.

Jeanne.. love your scarf my crafty gf made me the same color scarf all neutral colors I love it. The blue one should really be pretty don't forget to post that one. Love the family photo

Evening all!

We had a break from the snow today, but lots more for tomorrow. Then we are supposed to be done for awhile. May snow on Christmas, but not much. Got to see the sun today! was very nice. Unfortunately, with all this snow on the ground, the inversion will be back soon.

I got our family pictures back today. They turned out well I think. I am going to attempt to post one of them. If you would like to see more, they are on my facebook page. You can send me a request and I will add you (I'm Shelly Jackman Davis).

I got my gifts finished wrapped and delivered today for my neighbors. I think I just have one quick thing I need to pick up on Monday and I am done. Well, I still have to make some pj's for my GS, but they will be fast.

JeanneLee - Love the scarf! Nice picture of your family.

Nancy - So sorry you are sick. You have had more than your share. Get well soon!!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Tried to upload the picture a couple times, but it won't let me. Will try and get DH to help me resize it and see if it will work.

Hi.

JeanneLee, I like your scarf. I have one like it! You have a beautiful family.

How are you doing, Nancy?

Shelly, I sent you a friend request.

Hello ibean!

Jill made it safely. She was sick most of the way, poor thing. Her friend drove. We are so thankful that he was already planning on riding back with her.

It started snowing just as Jill got to our valley. We have several inches of new snow. Kate and Jordan are driving today. I will be praying for them today like I prayed yesterday for Jill. There is one stretch of freeway over the Blue Mountains that can be bad. Merle is out this morning blowing off all of the neighborhood driveways.

Hello to everyone else!

Sharon I don't think you can ever use Internet Explorer again seems it is out dated... over the Thanksgiving weekend I lost out on a lot of great deals because I couldn't use IE so now it is Firefox. Although I use IE for everything else I think PC improved and change their web site

Does anyone know how to awaken taste buds??

For the last 3 days since I have this flu bug I can't taste a thing!Angry I googled it and they said try a sour pickle and/or potato chips. DH went out bought me a very sour pickle took one bite and it worked and enjoyed a really nice dinner that was Friday evening. Tried it again and it hasn't worked again. Back to not tasting a thing.

I said it doesn't pay to eat if I can't taste anything. So I have been drinking Protein shakes and some food here and there. So annoying. DH has been doing all the cooking and housework I have no energyAngry

Sharon nice to hear you are enjoying time with your mom enjoy the Casino with your DH

Bingolady.. Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year to you and your family
