Finally I am able to logon to this site. I was out of town and everytime I tried to log in it would give me an error notice.
Any how I did get mine and Amanda's Nov, Dec, and Jan cards sent. They should be there sometime today (wed). I hope I didn't make them too late. It was crazy with going out of town and Amanda coming back from Hawaii. I forgot to mail them and thought that I was going to not be able toget them sent , but when I was getting lost at the Portland Oregon airport trying to find the cell phone witing are I found a post office that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. So I mailed them Sunday morning.

Count me in for Feb and March cards but Amanda can not do them in Feb and March.

Do we know the themes for the next few months? I would like to get started soon with them.

Hi everyone ! First - Here are the delightful cards from Carol Klink for November and December...she also sent January cards but I will reserve the pix on those until after Christmas when we all start on the JAN. batch. I have posted the themes on POST # 2 for JAN-FEB-MARCH

First is a lovely card with a real 3-D Silk Poinsettia flower on it ! What a great idea ! This is a gift card holder and can also be a lovely tree ornament as it has a place to string a ribbon through the top and hang it on a tree ( I think that is why it is there ?BigGrin )

Next is a really beautiful silvery New Years card with lots of clock embossing and a nice pocket watch embellishment, as well as a rendition of "Auld Lang Syne". Very nicely done !!

(more to come shortly - I am slow in my old age !)

Okay - Before I go to bed tonight I knew I could not sleep without getting the rest of the pictures done...tomorrow I will post my cards for you.

These first cards were made by Amanda -

A clever snowman gift card holder/tree ornament...Such a cute guy complete with a scarf made of embroidery threads ! When you pull out the scarf there is a little holder in there for a gift card if you wish Love

New Year's Eve card made with a festive purple paper and Silver party hat and cut-out Happy New Year inside of an envelope holder ! Nice job...

Secondly, there are 2 lovely cards from Dori -

A pretty and classic "white on white" Let It Snow card...with a lovely vellum inset and a die cut snowflake on the inside. I made an extra picture without a flash to possibly show the image better of the white on white design...LOVELY !!

Next is her Tuxedo Black multi-cut envelope card with silver inserts of "Happy New Year" ! These should come in handy a few days after Christmas for some of us ! All of the work is neat and crisp and took a lot of time and effort to create,

THANK YOU FOR THESE CARDS LADIES !!

I will be back tomorrow night with pictures of mine and hope to have the sorting done. They will be in the mail by Monday to everyone who sent...
THANKS AGAIN -
Remember, next batch to send will not be until JANUARY 30th 2014 !!
Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR CELEBRATION....I look forward to having a lot more fun with card-making in the New Year !

Sorry ladies... I did have some personal difficulties last week and did not get the cards mailed back to you on time. They are however, all in the mail now and should get to you by the middle of this week. My humble apologies Blushing - I won't bore you with the details of the human condition. Love I have included a little gift in each envelope to make up for my being so late in mailing.
Thank you all for sending your NOV-DEC cards together...it makes things easier for the holidays. The next batch mail date is due JAN 30th ( and I already have cards from 6 people for January !ThumpUp ) and Lori has re-joined us for the first quarter of 2014 ! WELCOME BACK LORI !!
After Christmas I will start posting pix of the January cards that I already have...and they are really nice ones ! Special treats await you !! Woot

I may be pretty absent for a week or 2 as I have to travel next week for the holidays, but I will be back as soon as I get home and post for New Year's .

May you all have a safe and happy holiday season !!

Lots of Love to All
Barbara

Hi Dori - THe February and March themes are posted at the beginning of the thread on Post #2...
I will always update the swap on POST #1 and POST #2 . I prefer to do it quarterly so April will not be there for a little while. I am requesting a few things be changed on the cards so it is good to check there.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !! Wub LOVE, PEACE and JOY !!

Hello!! If newbies are allowed to join I'd like to do the month of January (if I enjoy it then I'll do the other two months) to get the feel for swaps. They all look so fun and I really want to get involved in them.

I do have a question though. The list of embellishments you have one of the earlier posts at the beginning of the thread do we have to include all 11 embellishments or are those just suggestions for what we can use so we don't just use stickers and count that as embellishments?

Looking forward to joining! Let me know if there is anything else I need to do before getting started.

COPPERTOP - YES NEWBIES are Most certainly welcome ! I will put you in for January...and the list of embellishments is just for ideas of what you can do... Please avoid using a sticker all by itself it would be so lonely Crying LOL and please send your name, address, email address to me in a PM - these are kept confidential for the hostess only.

Here are a couple of pix for you to see of January cards

First, we have a lovely and nicely embellished card from Evelyn. It is a SnowMan "thank you" card and has embossing and a layered giant snowflake fastened with a brad ! Great job Evelyn !!

Next, is a lovely all occasion "Snowflake" cricut cut card from Dori. It is white that is layered on top of an ice blue background...very nice.

Hope to show you more soon !

I know with the bad weather across the country that there may be some delays in mail deliveries, so please try to send your Jan cards ASAP - thank you !!

Here are some more lovely cards for January !!

We have a wonderful creative winter card from Cathi King - with a cute snowman theme and tucked inside is a packet of Hot cocoa mix !! Wub Woo Hoo ! Woot Six lucky people will be receiving a very special treat !

Next, we have a delightful Winter snowball Gift card holder with a tag inside from Amanda.
I am not sure if I got something mixed up here from December, but the baggy was labeled as her January cards, so I saved them for this month. It still makes a delightful gift card holder for a friend who may have a winter birthday coming up ! Or, you can save it until Christmas 2014 ! There was a lot of work in these and they are very cute ! Thank you Amanda !!

THe third card is a very beautiful and well made Winter Cardinal in a pine tree...with lots of pretty embellishments from Carol. I love the 3D pine cone in the corner, the texture of the red "flower soft" on the bird, and the nice way it is made special on the inside of the card as well.
Thanks so much !

This swap just keeps getting better and better !! ThumpUp Wub

I was all excited last night because I was so close to being done with my January cards only to find out one card was the right size and the rest were too big....doh! Now it's back to the drawing board to figure out how to get a similar design with different paper since I'm out of the one I was using. Ahh the challenges of a newbie....BigGrin

Hoping my cards won't be too simple since I am just now learning the card making craft and do not have money to go out and get everything that I could possibly want in order to make crazy good cards like you all do!!

Hi Coppertop - The easiest way to do this is to take a piece of 8/12"x 11" cardstock (letter size) and cut it in half - POOF ! Instant A2 card size ! So you can do the swap with 3 sheets of letter-sized cardstock ... then you can cut 6 card toppers from 1 sheet of 12x12 cardstock and they will all be 4"x6" . That is the best way to start...and you can embellish from there. Hope that helps. All of your cards should be the same design.

I am really looking forward to getting these cards mailed back out to you all .... It looks like I will be able to mail early for January as we are only waiting on one or 2 more cards to arrive. BigGrin
