Would you purchase one? I am looking for one for my mother in law and she does not want to spend a ton of money. Or any other place that you would purchase one....we need one with cartridges.

The reconditioned machines do have a 1 year warranty just like new machines. I can safely recommend them to you.

I purchased one for my niece and it was not a good. The first machine did not work had to return it they sent me a second machine did not work had to return it. Finally a third machine and that worked. Don't get me wrong Cricut made it right but until the machines were shipped and returned it took around three months to get a machine that worked.

I have purchased them and they check out just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I just received a reconditioned Expression and right now I'm trying to update the firmware for CCR. So I'm not sure if it was worth it or not yet.

It came with 2 carts, a mat that I think belongs with the imagine machine (has the black grid) and the cord and once blade housing.

Good to know.

I don't understand PC selling 'reconditioned' machines, yet, they won't fix machines that need tweaking for their customersHuh. They are terrific at sending two or three machines to a customer when an original doesn't work. Just wondering are these the 'reconditioned' machines? Are they the machines from the factory that don't work when shipped out & returned by a customer?

I have an Expression sitting on the shelf for over a year, it needs tweaking but PC won't fix it. Oh wellBlushing.

Before PC made the different "grip" mats, they went to a universal mat that both the Imagine and E could use.

I had never seen one with the black lines but had read on the boards about the black lined mats being for the imagines so they knew where to cut or something like that. But I intended to use it with my E cause it is sticky, just a different look the the 2 I've been use to seeing. Thanks for the info :)

I can't answer your question about them sending reconditioned machines to replace non-working under warrenty ones but I can tell you that the SKU code is changed on my newly purchased refurbed machine and on the box my reconditioned E came in and has it printed on it CRICUT EXPRESSIONS REFURBISHED. I haven't been able to figure out how to register it like I have all my other cricut products cause I keep keep getting error messages saying no such machine exists.

I got the CCR firmware to update with the refurbed machine and it works. My first cut in CCR was perfect. It also cut perfectly using just the cartridges. My only issue is a high pitched consistant ring tone while it's cutting.

I bought a reconditioned one and it is actually cutting better than the brand new one I had. So, I have the other one attached to my computer to play with CCR and the reconditioned one I use at my craft desk.

So what did you and your mom decide to do? Buy a new one on sale or buy a refurbished one?

I am happy with the refurb I just got last month. It's working great so far.

We purchased a refurbished expression for MIL. As far as I know it works as she was stating she was so busy that she was going to try it after the holidays.

I just hope and pray that it works fine. As I don't have time to deal with that. But the gal at Cricut stated refurbished are tested out more so than the brand new ones.

Thanks for asking.
