I saw the new smaller boxes for the cartridges. It's such a small box...what in it? I know that you must purchase the universal overlay; but what is in such a small box? What about the booklet? Blushing

It's the cartridge and the booklet ( depending on how many different cuts are on the cart)the booklet will either be a little folded up piece of paper OR literally a mini book BigGrin

Inside the small box is the cartridge (no sticker on the bottom of the new carts any more, by the way), and a little book the size of a Post-It. The book has very minimal info in it. Granted, the two carts I have in the new style are Edge to Edge and Home Décor Vinyl Wall Art, neither of which have layered images, but there is little info in the book aside from a picture of the image and the corresponding key to use on the universal overlay. If I were new to Cricut, I'd be confused by the new handbooks. It is, however, nice to have smaller boxes so they don't take up as much storage space.

I just bought my first one on black Friday and I will NOT be buying anymore. Why should we pay the same price and have to go BUY a universal overlay to use the darn thing. I am upset!!!!!!!!
The little spiral handbook is awful. Just keep making all the print smaller and smaller.
Provo is saving me a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ as I wont buy anymore of these. DONE!!!!!

I have 2 of the new smaller packaged carts. Winter Wonderland and Edge to Edge, I love them!!! Both have the small post it sized books and I like the books so much better than the trifold cards that most of my solutions, samplers and Lites came with...Those pics are so small! I always have a difficult time seeing the different layers.

I have a couple of the carts with smaller boxes and books. I was doubtful before I got them, but I find the new books and universal overlay VERY easy to use.

I've also got a few of them and don't mind them at all. Once you figure out how the little books work, they're no problem at all.

You only need one Universal Overlay, and at $2.99, not a great outlay! Much better than having an overlay for each cartridge, you only have the one to store!

Cricut.com had the overlays for $1.79 the other day, and like someone said you only need to purchase it once, you can leave that overlay on from new cart to new cart, works great for me, pretty easy to use. I think someone new would understand it better then someone that has been using the other carts for a longer period of time.

As costs rise for everything, I'm glad PC found a way {by cutting out an individual overlay for each cart} to reduce their costs so they didn't have to raise my cost to buy carts.

I don't mind the small boxes but I don't seem to be able to open them very easily. I have to shove something in-between the sides.

I just received my first new cartridge in the new style (Create A Friend) and I love it!

The booklet is so easy to understand and I can actually see the pictures without a microscope!

Well done PC! BigGrin

(I had trouble opening mine too until I realised I had to cut the EULA sticker...) Cool
