A few months ago my Cuttlebug broke. I don't know why. I was in the middle of using it and it just came apart inside without any warning. Well, the other day I decided that since it's way out of warranty that I'd check out the problem and see if it was something simple I could fix myself. I'm fairly mechanical so I didn't think it would be a problem if it were something basic like replacing a gear or screw or something like that. Of course, it couldn't be so simple. I opened her up and little pieces started falling out. A needle bearing had come all apart and the needle rollers were falling everywhere inside and out. I don't even know where the inner race went. Because of this, all of the internal gears were laying every which way. That bearing has to be special ordered, mechanically removed and a new one mechanically pressed back in. By the time I paid for all of that I could buy 3 Cuttlebugs. So I must tell her goodbye. Rest in pieces, Fair Lady.

I had one break a while back.
It just stopped working while I was using it.
I opened her up and her gears fell out.
Luckily I was able to put her back together and she has worked fine for me.
Wish yours was able to be fixed.
D~
Here are pictures I posted on my blog of my Cuttlebug surgery.

Calmom, I saw your story a few weeks ago and that was what inspired me to have hope. I knew if mine were something that simple I could take care of it. But when I saw that bearing and the condition it was in, I knew there was no hope.

Scrapaulette, I love that idea! Thank you so much. You are so creative.

I hate it when I lose an old friend! I hope you can find another and make new memories!
