WhooooHooooo! Flapper We're getting a TARGET store. Can't wait. Whenever we went for a jaunt down South, we'd hit the TARGET store. It's been soooooooo long since I've been, tho, and I can't remember what they sell --- scrapbooking-wise.

* Do they have anything Cricut? --- mats? blades? etc.
* What about the other dies? embossing folders??

Basically, can you refresh my memory as to what kind of scrapbooking supplies they sell?

And. . . do they do anything special for a "Grand Opening", as in mega sales???

Thanks for any info you can provide. BigGrin

EDIT: See Post #17 for UPDATE! Smile

Some select Target stores did sell a limited amount of Cricut things for a short while, but am pretty sure they don't anymore. However, they do sell some cardstock, patterned paper, stickers, albums, some tools, adhesives, and some small storage. Don't forget to check the dollar spot...you never know what you may run across there!BigGrin

One of the Targets in my area still has Cricut items, but they are way over priced and you can't use a coupon like you can at Js {for the mats and blades and other accessories}. And they do have some items online, but again, over priced!

Ohhhhhh! I wonder if maybe our "brand new" one might be doing that, at least to start. Ya just never know, eh? BigGrin

It sounds very similar to the WallyWorld craft section. Smile

Thanks for the info!!! Much appreciated! BigGrin

Ohhhhh, now that sounds verrrrrry promising!! Hopefully, ours will get on the band wagon.

I wish we had a J's. I LOVE that store!!!! Mind you, they ship to Canada now. WhooooHoooo! And I took advantage of it --- I bought another Epiphany Studio Tool, and I finally found that elusive Real Estate punch that I've wanted for sooooo long. So that was a good haul!!

Thanks for the info, Paulette! BigGrin

None of our Targets ever carried Cricut things.
We live within 5 minutes of 2 of them and 20 mins from a few more.
They have remodeled our stores and made some of them larger.

We do not have a Walmart close (45 min drive).

Enjoy!

I wouldn't get to excited about Target having Cricut stuff,lol...I have one 5 minutes away been there a few years and doesnt carry anything Cricut, which for me is probably a good thing,lol..since i go there 2 or 3 times most weeks. You may not find any Cricut stuff but like someone just mentioned that $1 dollar section you never know what you might find in there to use for crafting, mine had the $1 section 50% yesterday so i got quite a few things, felt baskets, pencils, notebooks, metal buckets, lots of good stuff in there to craft on. They do have some papers, stickers, adhesives, but mostly in there I think outside of the box.

I stand oorrected! I knew there were select stores initially and thought it was for a trial period and that it had ended because many of those stores clearanced their Cricut items. Nice to know some survived. BigGrin

Bummer, eh? I'm hopin' that ours might carry them, even to start with, but it's sounding more and more like they won't. Sad Time will tell, tho. Smile

Yeh, I'm trying to look on the bright side that they just might give it a go. But the $ section looks/sounds promising.

I'm sure Target will be a lot better, all the way around, than our old Zellers!!! BigGrin

Target's "craft" section is even less than wally's. I thin it's about four feet long. A lot of Stickers, some K&Co paper, glue, pop dot, basic scissors and the like, Nothing to get your heart set on that's for sure.

Well, we finally got our TARGET. We had a "soft opening", whereas the grand opening will be down the road. I was really bummed by what they carried and the price of same. The President of Marketing (or whoever he was) said on the news that they weren't going to have the same prices as the USA --- that they were just going to be competitive w/ other Canadian stores.

Whaaaaat? Really??? Anyway, I found their prices to be HIGHER than even our WallyWorld.

The first section I made a bee-line to was the Craft Section. I wonder why, eh? Laugh

In this thread, I received the following comments, of what I might be able to expect in my Target so here are the snippets of same:-

* they do sell some cardstock, patterned paper, stickers, albums, some tools, adhesives, and some small storage.
* One of the Targets in my area still has Cricut items
* A lot of Stickers, some K&Co paper, glue, pop dot, basic scissors and the like
* Target near me carry smash stuff so if you "SMASH" they have a nice selection!

Well, here's the scoop on mine:-

It didn't have ANYTHING that was mentioned above. ThumbDown Nothing. Nada! Zilch!!! Angry

What they considered crafts were:-
popsicle sticks, glue, scissors, kid's craft kits, Hello Kitty paint sets, colouring books.

I was sooooooooo disappointed! Sad

Canadians:- are your stores like this, too???

Ours hasn't opened yet. After reading your post LadyBug, I'm really bummed.Sad

our local Wal-Mart is going through a reorg. I went in a couple of weeks ago to get a Cricut spatula because mine was missing. I only have two and every time I need one I can't find it. The craft section was moved to the middle of the store, most everything was on clearance, and there was no Cricut anything! I've been told that they will no longer carry Cricut products and that makes me sad.Sad

Ours is scheduled to open this summer. I miss Zellers and don't hold out much hope for Target--I don't recall them being very cheap when I went to them in the States. *sigh*

Ours had nothing here at West Edmonton Mall's Target. I asked and they didn't think they were going to get any more crafting stuff and gave me directions to Micheal's and DeSerres - ha ha...I told them I was looking for some competition for those 2 places.

Saying I was 'Underwhelmed with Target' would be a huge understatement. Poor quality products that were more expensive than Walmart. In fact, I haven't heard a single 1 of my friends that was impressed with Target nor would anyone bother to go there again. Having said that...they have a nice washroom - which was desperately needed at that end of this ginormous mall!

I want a MACY'S!

Yeh, when I was in the store, I heard people chatting that they weren't impressed, either. Very sad, eh? I used to love going to the one in Bellingham, WA. They had neat crafty items.

Oh, I didn't spot any "dollar bins", either. Did you? Mind you, I wasn't looking that hard. BigGrin
