I do these all the time. I have never used the knifty knitter. I hand knit them or crochet them. Crochet takes like 30 minutes! I actually love the starbella but there are a lot of other brands out there too!

These are beautiful! I never thought about using my Knifty Knitter!!! But, when I first made them I was 900 miles from home (in January), and I just finished one, and I am still 900 miles from home. I did go home in the middle of this, though.

Again, your scarves are lovely.

I knitted it on the knifty knitter but on the "no crochet" I just went thru the loops....and yes, you can make the no crochet in a day Flapper but I kept dropping my stich and had to start all over.....Huh I'm not very good at knitting by hand or crocheting.

I have always admired these scarves and would love to try to make one but I have some questions. I do know how to crochet but not knit and wonder which would be the easiest to attempt....crocheting or purchasing a kniffy knitter to give it a try. From all of your personal experiences which is the easiest for a beginner? Thanks in advance!!

Before these, I had never knitted or crochet before!
I first learned how to knit them. for me it was easy to learn but it takes about 2 hours.
Then I learned how to crochet them. Crocheting them only takes about 30min.
Crocheting is defiantly easier and quicker but they have two completely different looks. You need a really big crochet hook!
You can go on youtube and watch videos on how to do it!
You do need to adjust how many loops depending on your brand of yarn!

Very nice...I have made a few but did mine crocheting. I have a friend who knits hers and they turn out lovely...but I don't knit. The idea of using the Nifty Nitter has me intrigued though and I will have to check it out. I will say crocheting though does take only a few hours, but I liked the looked of the knitted ones better...so if it takes a long time the other way I might stick to crocheting.

They turned out great! BigGrin

The link for the knifty knitter video has been on the knifty knitter board for a while. There are lots of great links over there from lots of different talented people.

My sister did a whole bunch of these at Christmas. I got the very first one she did becuase it was purple and my DH and I are big K-State Wildcat fans and it matched my coat.

I love some of the of the multi colored yarn she used. Had some really pretty scarfs.
