I have cut a couple of adhesive backed vinyl using the KISS method. Then, I cut another but it went all the way through the paper backing, but not on the mat. So, I changed to Depth-3, Pressure-2, and Speed-3. Went wonderful for 2 sayings. Did another one today using those same settings, but alas, again, went through the paper backing. Redid a trial using Depth-2, Pressure-3, and Speed-3. And again, through the paper backing. What am I doing wrong?? I want to keep my cuts clean...

Thank you in advance!!

If you're using the same brand vinyl and the same mat/blade, I have no idea why you are getting different results with each cut. Huh Maybe a reset would help?

Maybe, when you load the vinyl, first cut a small square in the corner to "test" the cut.

You might want to call PC and talk with CS. They may have some troubleshooting ideas for you.

Thank you for your fast reply!!

It's pretty weird, huh! I'm using Oracle 631 (same adhesive), same blade and same mat. I have figured out to cut a small image just to see if it will cut right. How do you reset?? Thanks, I will call Customer Support. I love everything I've been able to do, but this has got me mind boggled!

Just got off the phone with CS. She said vinyl always needs to be tested, which I didn't know. To cut clean, adjust your speed down one. Lower the blade down one, and adjust the pressure down one if it is still cutting through the paper.

I think that answers the question, but we will see!
