If you are using a smaller sheet of paper than 12x12 where is the proper place to put the paper on the mat, or does it matter. I have trouble getting the cutting to start on the right spot.
Any helps?

It really doesn't matter where you place the paper but the blade must be in the top, right corner of the paper when you start cutting. I often try to use different spots on the mat so that the same place is not wore out as much.

You can also press the Page size button if you would like when the blade is in the top, right corner of the paper. This will just make sure that the item you are cutting is going to fit on the piece of paper you are using.

Hope this helps!
