This info is only for Zone Alarm users. I'll address other anti-virus programs in a different thread.

Avast users see this thread: http://main.cricut.com/communit...le-logging-into-CCR.aspx
F-Secure users see this thread: http://main.cricut.com/communit...le-logging-into-CCR.aspx

If you use Zone Alarm anti-virus on your computer and you are unable to login to CCR here's some instructions that may help.

Unlike the Avast and F-Secure anti-virus programs I haven't found a way to add CCR as an exception to Zone Alarm to allow it through, no matter what Application Control Settings I use.

The only way (other than exiting out of Zone Alarm) I have been able to get CCR to work is:

1. Exit out of Cricut Craft Room

2. Left click on the up arrow in the bottom right corner of your screen.

3. Left click on the Zone Alarm icon

4. Click anywhere inside the Internet box

5. Click on the Web Security On button to turn it off.

It will now look like this:

6. Exit out of Zone Alarm by clicking on the X in the top right corner of the screen.

7. Restart your computer

8. Open Cricut Craft Room and try to login.

I'm still trying to find a safer way to allow CCR through Zone Alarm and will update as soon as I work something out. Be assured that even though you are disabling your Internet Security your anti-virus program and firewall are still running.

Once you have finished working with CCR you can go back to Zone Alarm and turn your Internet Security back on. To do that repeat steps 2 and 3 above then click on the Fix now button.

Hi all -- I was having all kinds of trouble with Cricut not being able to log in on a Windows 7 system with ZoneAlarm. Called the Cricut help desk and they were extremely unhelpful -- at least they appeared to be at the time. The only thing they could do was tell me to contact ZoneAlarm support; they wouldn't be able to help me until I talked to them.

I then chatted with the ZoneAlarm help desk and was told my copy of ZoneAlarm Extreme Security was out of date -- they told me how to upgrade; the instructions I followed are below:

You will need to install the latest version of ZA with the steps below:
1) SAVE the ZoneAlarm clean tool from the link below:
http://download.zonealar...pport/download/clean.exe

2) When the download box pops up, choose SAVE. In the next box, choose Save to Desktop

3) SAVE the latest ZoneAlarm install program from the link below:
http://download.zonealar...ASPSetup_110_000_038.exe

4) When the download box pops up, choose SAVE. In the next box, choose Save to Desktop

5) Next, please uninstall ZoneAlarm by using the Uninstall option on the Remove Programs menu on the Windows Control Panel. Restart when prompted.

6) After rebooting, run the clean tool using the file you downloaded to your desktop and follow the on screen prompts to complete the uninstall. Be sure to restart your computer if prompted.

7) Clear your Windows temporary file cache by following the steps below:
- Go to Start -> Run
NOTE: If you do not have the Run option on the Start menu, you can press and hold the Windows logo key and tap the letter R .
- Type %temp% and click OK
- Select all of these files and delete them
- Empty your recycle bin

8) Reinstall ZoneAlarm again from the ZASPSetup_110_000_038.exe file you downloaded to your desktop

You will be prompted for the license key.

I followed those instructions to uninstall and clean up ZoneAlarm, then reinstalled the latest.

I then launched Cricut -- and it worked the first time!!!

So -- thank you, Cricut and ZoneAlarm help desks! I'm sorry I doubted you!

Note: the instructions above may need to be updated as time goes on and ZoneAlarm releases later versions. For the latest instructions, you may need to contact ZoneAlarm support.
