I am a totally newbie to the die cutting world and my 11 yr old daughter is tagging along.
I have several friends that are familiar and LOVES their machines, all Expression or Expression 2's..I am not wanting such a large machine, well I do...but it is a matter of space and I don't have any..;(....so I was looking at the Create until I today ran across the mini...I love that you can get a lot of the designs online, but I also like how you can use cartridges..which of course I have none of yet, but should be able to borrow a lot from my above mentioned friends and buy some as my need arises.
My question mainly...is it as easy to use as the Create or Expression? I can't see any keboard like teh Create or Expressions, in the pictures of tehe Mini, does it have one? Can you place the cartridge overlay on it?
Also, in the reviews or even mentioned on here...reviews are varying from really good to really bad, it is a little weary but if I don't connect it to my computer at all times, it should not freeze up right? This seems to be the biggest complaint.

In other words, since I will mainly use cartridges will the Mini be a good choice or should I stick with getting a Create or even another machine all together?

Thanks a bunch...sorry for the long post..

the only way to use the mini is to connect it to your computer and use cricut craft room.

Also you can not get designs online the mini is still a cartridge based cutter, so you will need to purchase cartridges (either physical arts or digital carts) in order to use it.

So you can not use the mini with cartridges unless you are online?
So for me maybe the Create would be best?

Thank you for the quick response.

that is correct. It doesn't have a keypad overlay like the create and so the only way to use it is with the computer and CCR
