Who would believe that its Thanksgiving this week already... Time is slipping by and before you know it Christmas will be here!!! Last year this tread sure helped alot in getting my cards done and keeping me on track with my christmas cards!!! Thankyou Diane, Tatiana and Joy for pushing to keeping Santa Slackers gong I forgot how much I enjoyed it last year!!!

Since we all have so much to do with another Holiday upon us this week I choose Ornaments and bows as the theme for this week!! You can get as simple as you want or as fancy as you want... dig in to your supplies and use what ever you want!!! Make as many as you want!!!! Here is mine.... Play along and let us see what you come up with!!!

Sandi,
What a beautiful card! I love that holly border around your ornament frame and the crinkle ribbon bow under your paper bow. Loving all the pearl bling too. Great layout on this one. You always make such wonderful cards!

For this week, I chose to do a shaped card. The ornament is from Christmas Cheer, the Santa is from PDDU, and the scalloped frame is from Elegant Edges. I added diamond stickles to Santa's beard, but was too lazy to take another photo. I am so thrilled that the original Slackers have come back for another year of inspiration, and allowed Tatiana and I to join their group. I've had so much fun. Hope you will join us this week. We'd love to see what you're up to!

I think it depends on what you enjoy doing.I have an expression and the imagine and I prefer the expression.I love to pick out all the different papers to cut and I feel a bit more creative when using my expression. The imagine is great for making cards in a hurry(and that's purely a relative term) and also if you enjoy the layout process more than choosing papers.I love them both, but if I had to choose one it would be the expression.

Good morning y'all!!! Here is my ornament card. I used the card feature from Joy's of the Season, The birdhouse is cut from Stretch Your Imagination, flower, leaves and sentiment frame are from the Art Philosophy cart and the bird was made using a punch. The stamp is from Close to My Heart. Thanks for taking a peek !!!

Well, it seems the Queen of Shape cards is you! I love this! Your papers are so perfect...such a sweet, country look. I love that stamp...it's totally fabulous...looks amazing with that green oval behind it...and your birdhouse and glossy bird are so adorable. You really do make paper flowers like no one I've ever seen. Knew it would be amazing, but you always surprise me.

Hi there! I also have the E, E2, and I. I was going to say at this point, the imagine seems like a good all in one machine, but it sounds like you have made your decision. With the Imagine, you can use the carts that work in the expressions, as well as imagine carts. I am not a huge fan of the Imagine mats though, they don't seem quite sticky enough. But with Cricut Craft Room, you can chose the cut only option, and the imagine functions like an expression. I love all of them, but with the black Friday deal walmart is going to have on the Imagine, I think I'd get that if I had no other machines right now. Of course, I fully believe you can't go wrong if you buy any one of these three. I love my original E and use it with DS all the time. But, I've been venturing into Craft Room, and I love the E2 and the Imagine even more now that they can be used with the options Craft Room offers. Good luck with your decision. Hope you'll post your creations when you are up and running. Thanks for the kind comments!

Hello dear friends. I love all your cards so much. Sandi, thanks for posting this week's thread. Your card is so beautiful. Love the white on it, I think I should use it more. Cute ornament.

Diane, I smiled when I saw your card (you'll see why in my post) and also because I loved this cute little Santa with his PK face, love it, great job, my friend! Love all the details, the pearls, the ribbon flowers, the seam binding and the bell. Papers are so cute. (I did not know you had E2, grrrrr. Enjoy using the Craft Room!)

Joy, after seeing your card I started laughing (not because it's funny, but check out my card below). But the card is absolutely gorgeous. Oh, how I love Art Philosophy, not sure if Santa will be generous enough this Christmas, having three girls who already make long lists for him.
The bird is so cute and shiny, love the birdhouse, I know it's one of your favorites.

I was not going to post my card until later but seeing Diane's and Joy's cards I had to squeeze mine right now. I just had to laugh because I also made an ornament shaped card. i think I use Joys Of the Season cart, but I WELDED!!! Yes (can I be at least your servant, your majesty, The Queen of Shaped Cards) welded the shadow and then cut the layers for the ornament. My card is simple comparing to others, but that's what Sandi is talking about, you can be as simple as you want or as fancy as you want. The girl is from Winter Frolic. I am not sure if I want to keep the golden string or take it out.
Thanks.
Tatiana

lol! I can't believe how many shaped ornament cards we have here...the more the merrier.....and, obviously great minds thinking alike. ;) Not sure what's simple about your card though....lots of layering and small pieces on your Winter Frolic cutie...not my idea of simple! Loving the twine you added to the gift. Your embossing is fabulous, and I love that background paper too! This card is adorable! Did you say you didn't like this one? I hope that you were talking about a different card because this one is sooooo cute! Love that precious face!

Guess what? I stopped at Marshalls on the way home yesterday on the off chance I'd find some AC cardstock. None there, but I did find one giant pack of Tis The Season paper by DCWV - 180 sheets for 6.99. I think that is the same paper you said you found. I was so excited. Now I can copy all your future work...lol! And, you are welcome to come over anytime and use my E2. I have the wireless adapter - you can design from the laptop downstairs in Craft Room and send it to cut upstairs on the E2. You will love it...I dare ya...come over...I don't bite!

Can I join in Ladies? BigGrin It will be meagre offerings compared to what all you talented crafters turn out! Love however it is the 'fun' aspect of it all and it will give me much needed practise!Blushing

The card is the Doily cut from Wild Card and the ornament is from Joys of the Season. The snowflake is from It's Coold Outside and I cut it in felt. I trimmed the outside of the card with what I think we call in the UK 'Eyelash Ribbon' and a string of embellishment pearls have been put around the ornament.

Hy Lynda! I am so glad you joined in! Did i tell you how much I love Hyacinth Bucket and I think about her every time I see your post. I love your card, it's so beautiful. I cannot believe you cut the snowflake in felt, it's great! I wonder how you did that. Love the eyelash fibers too. I am glad this thread is becoming more international if I can say so. Hope you will add your creation each week for the Santa Slackers Challenge.

These cards are all very beautiful. It has gotten me in the mood to make some more Christmas cards. I don't have any carts with an ornament on them (fairly new to cricut and only a few carts) but I will see if I can put something together lol.

Lynda,
So happy to see you playing along this week! Your card is so pretty! I love the eyelash yarn you wove through the scallop and that ornament reminds me of some ornaments we had on our tree when I was a kid..they'd be vintage now...ugh! I love your card...it has an elegant look...something I am unable to achieve...fabulous job! Thanks for playing!
Diane

Edited to add: Just saw the tiny strand of pearls you added along the ornament border...that must have been a pain in the neck, but they look great!

This is fab! I'd hang this on my tree no bother at all. xxx

Okay so here it goes... I have never posted my projects on any of these types of threads before but figured what a perfect time to start. I was a little hesitant to do this because, as I mentioned earlier, I did not have an ornament image. I ended up just cutting a circle from Plantin Schoolbook. I used stretch your imagination for the snowman. I love to emboss so I did that as well. I tried to find a bow and did not have any and then I tried to make one and they were not turning out the way I wanted, so I ended up putting ribbon around the edge. The card is quite simple but I think it turned out okay.
